Beethoven's 6th Symphony - 1st Movement

Here is the first movement of Beethoven's 6th Symphony.  The 6th is among the most beautiful music Beethoven wrote, and he wrote this one at the same time he wrote the more infamous 5th Symphony.  Both symphonies premiered together in the same concert.

Beethoven loved nature and took many walks in the forest.  He actually named this symphony the "Pastoral Symphony" and also described each movement.  This 1st movement he entitled "Awakening of cheerful feelings upon arrival in the country".

I used East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Plus for the virtual instruments.  It is amazing software!

Please let me know what you think.

This is a great listen. It's so clean, sweet, and precise sounding. It seems to highlight the vivid imagination of the composer and the composition.

    Thanks for sharing.

Jerry, this is astounding.  The realism is amazing, and so is you're understanding of the medium.  A rarity.

    All the best,

Just beautiful!   Did you read the music to enter the notes or did you have the midi file?  Having tried a few orchestra pieces, I can't even imagine the time you put into this.  Beethoven would be proud. :)

Excellent work! It does sounds like the real thing.

Beethoven is an interesting character. He was abused as a child and would not conform to the rules of society as an adult. He probably loved nature becuase he hated everybody. In college, my history of music professor said he was probably a pedafile as well. Musicly, he was ahead of his time at the time.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

To the OP nice job and a lot of work. The good thing about doing something like this is you learn a lot about sounds and articulations etc..

But for those who think it sounds like the real deal, not quite.

    This is the real deal:

It still sounds like a VST to me. Listen carefully to how great the orchestra sounds. You would need twenty samplers and the same number of VST's and then you might start to sound OK.

After doing something like this start writing your own pieces and arranging them for orchestra. That would be the real challenge for me.
