Behringer UCA222 and MC5 issue

Hi everyone, new user here...

I'm using a Behringer UCA222 (usb audio interface) on Windows 7 to record my guitar/drums/bass etc, and it seems to record well enough on the WDM/KS driver mode with recording device AND playback device set to the Behringer device... The problem comes with playback: I get no audio despite having a waveform on the track.

I can hear what I'm playing because I'm monitoring via the UCA separate from MC5, but MC5 produces no sound at all (even when tracks are set to echo).

I have the ASIO4ALL drivers (came with the UCA, work with other software for recording and playback), but with MC5 I can't set the UCA as playback, I'll select it, hit apply and the window goes away and comes back with "none" selected instead for playback.

Lastly: when selecting WDM in Audio options, it tells me that the parameters aren't good, should it try again? I say yes and it seems to accept it.

     Help please!

there are new ASIO drivers on the behringer website which is not ASIO4ALL.  uninstall ASIO4ALL, download the ASIO drivers from behringer and try that under ASIO.

dang..... Beagle beat me to it....

Yeah, install the ASIO driver and remove the ASIO4ALL since you don;t need it.

Cheers for these, I've done that so now it lets me use the UCA as my playback without telling me off, but still no sound when I do playback...

check to be sure all the volumes are turned up and not muted.

That one catches me every now and then. It records just fine, but on playback, nothing.  I generally think the interface lost communication because the meters are showing some action. So I reboot the system and still nothing. I switch to a different project and it plays fine. I go back and look more closely and discover a fader pulled down in the master or something similar.

you are trying to monitor from the UCA, right, not from the computer speakers?

if so, what are your outputs set to in your project?
    when you go to OPTIONS>AUDIO
What is the RECORDING and PLAYBACK devices set to?

Significant self-kicking going on right now.

Created a totally blank project with no master tracks or buses or anything, made a track, recorded and played back fine.

Someone should have read the manual.

Thanks for all your help guys!

Monitor was coming from the UCA which was hooked up to computer speakers through an audio in jack separate from the computer (ie. straight to the speakers).

Recording and playback were the UCA, it was just me being idiotic in the end :p
