I believe she has a great voice. I believe the mix is super cool. I believe the tune is well arranged and holds interest throughout the piece. I also believe the volume of the snare, and the kick, could come up a little, particularly in the jam-groove parts when she isn't singing. I believe the snare sounds like it's in an adjacent room. But most importantly, I believe these are personal creative mix choices and you have made so many good ones on this song! This is what I believe. Faithfully Submitted, Douglas C. Neidermeyer

Mike - thank you! :) Douglas - I agree with you on the kick and snare. I'm burnt out on mixing this one and ready to create something new. I'm thinking about letting a friend do a stem master and see if he can't improve the mix without me really needing to dig back into the mix... thanks for your honesty! :)

I'm a sucker for that delayed guitar sound so it drew me right in. Works perfectly with the arps and Grace's vocals are the icing on the cake. What a fine track with a pro-sounding mix.

Thanks so much for listening and providing feedback - I very much appreciate it! :) I absolutely LOVE playing guitar with delay - so much so that I don't often play guitar WITHOUT delay. Grace said she's excited to sing on the next one so I better get to work...

My 2 cents on the next song: More of that guitar (like the big hit in the beginning) and more Grace!

James, Everything sounded real good to me Your song took me on a nice ride . Dug the delayed guitars , the songs arrangement and mix . The singer voice was right on and perfect for the song . Loved the well placed Stephen Hawking Cameo . Hey you never know, he might dig being a Rock Star ... all the best, Kenny

Thanks Kenny! Definitely inspired by Pink Floyd when it came to using Hawkings. :) I really appreciate your comment about a "nice ride" - that's the type of music I enjoy listening to - the stuff that takes you on journeys...

Thanks! I'm working up some ideas now but I let my guitar chops fade a bit the last few months; the song parts are cool but I can't quite play them well enough yet! lol

Absolutely love the song! The vocals sound excellent, as do the guitars and arps. There are a couple of power chords I'm not sure are sitting correctly, but that is minor. If it were me, I would bring up the kick/snare and bass while routing them through a separate mix bus with a little extra compression and bottom EQ to add a little bit more weight to the mix, not too much though... Regards, Dan

Thanks so much Dan! I agree - I'm just not 100% there with the drums. I asked a friend to help out and we're working up some ideas. In the future I think I will run all BFD channels to channels in the Daw and process them there instead of in the BFD mixer. I just couldn't get the results I was looking for inside of BFD... I appreciate the constructive feedback! :)

I generally turn off BFD mixer effects and bounce from BFD to Sonar. After that, I treat the audio tracks as recorded drums and process from there. I find I can do more once the tracks are out of BFD... Regards, Dan

Nice mix, grab my furry attention and held it for the duration. Her vocal was, as someone said, the icing on this cake. Well arranged, well captured, well presented, some good playing, thanks for sharing

Thank you! :) This is 100% original... I'm working on a rev 2 with some different drums that I'm very excited about...

Good stuff... Nice mix, cool song, and yeah, the vocals sound great. Did you record those as well? Very clear and defined. I enjoyed the way you kept switching things up as it went along too, it kept things most interesting. And I think Steven agrees.

Hi, James, Very cool, modern sounding song with excellent songwriting and arrangement, great performances by all, stellar vocals and a nice, clean, punchy mix! I love Bapsi's bass on this one, too, fits perfectly into the mix like a glove. Dynamite work, James, really nice! Have a good one! Bob

Everything about this number works well --- the composition, playing, mix, etc. It certainly has all the elements of a good commercial production. Excellent work everyone!!!
