SAVIHost is a very useful little utility, but Ohm Studio (a "collaborative" DAW) looks really interesting. Anyone using Ohm Studio?

I did some beta testing with Ohm Studio and it is definitely a usable DAW.  I just
for some reason couldn't get "in" to it...it didn't feel right to me.  But definitely usable.

What do you mean by "in" to it?  Was it something you could put your finger on?
I KNOW that since I've used PT, Cubase, SONAR, Digital Performer and the likes (Sonar being my fav) I could find it totally usable but I'm curious about your comment..

I already had the Cake Studio Instruments package that had the stand-alone versions of each.  When I upgraded, I lost the exes.  Somebody here on the forums (I can't remember who it was; scook, Jonesy, ??) recommended savihost as a way to be able to run them again.

Works great.  Very handy

I don't know if it is still in the CM content but the Computer Muzy's  was a decent DAW back in the 32 bit days.

I wish that was developed more. It was damn good for a freebie. No longer in their content

I could never get OhmStudio to even sign me in, so after some time I just stopped trying it. Then again, I'm not really into the "lets write this thing together" vibe of things.

Thought I'd share this since it's related...

Found this guy who has a home recording channel on YouTube -- Vatche is his name.  He's not only knowledgeable and easy-going, but has a decidely "can do" attitude.  For example, he planned and built his own recording studio in his backyard (Which he meticulously chronicles in a 35-part video series).

Anyway, Vatche regularly reviews and does tutorials on free DAWs.  Here's his channel playlist, so you can check out any topics you may find interesting:

I think somewhere there might have been some possible litigation against Muzy's and now it's Mulab which is not anywhere close to the original Muzys.

I was impressed by his example of using Tracktion T5 (free) to record a song using mostly free instrument and effects plugins.  Acoustic guitar, electric bass, flute, piano, strings, percussion, and vocals, with EQ, compression, and reverb.  The only paid plug he used was optional, a reverb he preferred for his vocal track.  Well done!

Try, https://ardour.org. This was the initial DAW concept that MixBus was conceived from.

Ardour is only free if you have the time and knowhow to compile the source code yourself. If you want a ready built executable it isn't free although I believe you can pay as much or little as you want.

Like Reaper there is a degree of honor involved since it isbprobably easy to bypass even monthly dollar payement, but my point is they do not list themselves as freeware
