Best DDR3 RAM for samples work?

I use lots of samples and so need a lot of RAM for my computer.

I am on the x58 platform, which is triple channel and has 6 RAM slots.

I'm thinking of getting 2 lots of 3x4GB DDR3 RAM. But there's some choice of brands for this. Any recommendations on which DDR3 RAM is best? I'm leaning towards the G.Skill 12gb 1600mhz kit, but I notice that some DAW builders here are recommending Mushkin and Corsair instead. Is there really that much difference between the different types of RAM?

Check the QVL for your motherboard....that's where I'd start

I always use Corsair and have never had a bad stick yet, my current ones have been in use for 1-1/2 years now and have more on order.

    in this order

Super Talent (the only ones using Samsumg modules) but also more $ about $20 a stick
we are considering going back to these guys despite the cost.
    Mushkin  what we use now
Corsair  have had issues in the past

wen filling all slots things can get funky.. dont try to buy 24Gig ram thats faster than 9-9-9-24  1600.

all of these will still require you to fool with the memory settings or they will run @ 1333
however they are the ones most likely to work

Thanks Scott, that's helpful. Always wonderful to hear from an expert.

    Another couple of questions:

    1) I can't get Supertalent or Mushkin 1600mhz memory easily in Australia. Instead I can get the G.Skill Ripjaw, or Corsair Vengeance series of RAM. Are either of those OK?

    2) I can find Mushkin 1333mhz memory here. Is there much difference in speed for samples, between 1333 and 1600 speed RAM? The Muskin 1333mhz memory is the "silverline" here:

silver line is ok i would want the black line 1600.
if you cant get that then Corsair. i have seen varying reports of gskill (never tried them)
    you definitely want 9-9-9-24 1600..

Thanks, I'll be sticking to your advice about the 9-9-9-24 1600.
Will get the Corsair Vengeance 12gb later this week, since you recommend that brand. I take it that it's unnecessary to go for the Corsair Dominator range, which is a lot more expensive?
Also, is it OK to get 2 sets of 12gb RAM, rather than 1 set of 24gb RAM? (works out a lot cheaper)

2 sets is fine.. its not like they actually test all the modules in a board.
all that means is the sub timings and ICs are the same..

Just sharing some news I came across -

It looks like Mushkin is now making a new type of Blackline Enhanced memory, that runs on only 1.35V instead of 1.65V:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226184

This looks like a winner, if it can run on those specs at 1.35V.
