The only thing I find really surprising is the rank for Sibelius. Apparently Europeans can still read notation. Or maybe October was just the month after all the music majors got their text and software course requirements list.

ending centuries of tradition (notation) would be a shame.

    Hi Zonno,

Hi Mesh, thanks for being interested.
I haven't done anything with SONAR lately. I focus more on practising and playing the guitar these days.
Bit I miss the atmosphere of the SONAR forum, so now and then I take a look to see how the coffee house is doing.

I wish there was a Cakewalk-like guitar forum. The Dutch guitar forum is kind of rude. I'm thinking of joining the Canadian guitar forum.

Well, kids that go to music school after normal school to learn to play an instrument still learn to read from sheet music.

I think it might be closer to the actual name/title of the program ... and some folks thinking that because it has such a big name, that it must be good?

Kinda weird/scary to see one product with so much in there ... and it makes me think that this company simply does not have anything else on hand, like Sonar, or Pro Tools. (Pro Tools I can understand ... it's not for folks that walk in the stores, right?)

Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

As there are samplers and VSTis on the list as well as DAWs, I'm actually very surprised there are not more
VSTis of lower price categories in top 20. Maybe there's so much of them on the market, that the purchases are spread too much to allow any one of them sell enough?

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.
