Best setup for Soundcraft Notepad - Anyone?
I picked up the soundcraft 124 notepad and I'm not sure I have it connected to my system the best way possible. I'm used to a larger A&H with all sorts of routing options and now, I need some of you to help me with this little mixer if you don't mind.
Simply put - I want to record and monitor with a delta1010. I have powered monitors/headphones that play into this setup. So far with the setup below, it is not satisfying for listening to previous recorded tracks while recording more tracks. In order to hear the mix while recording a new track, I have to listen from the AUX Send. The sound is degraded a little, not terrible, but not as good as it sounds when I don't have to use AUX Send.
I currently have it setup like this:
MIX outputs to the delta1010 1/2
MONITOR output to the powered monitors
Delta1010 inputs/returns to channels 7/8 (could be any 2 channels)
There are 2 stereo returns that the manual says is for a cd or mp3 player. I'm not using those. If any of you have any thoughts on this - much appreciated.
BTW - this little mixer's pre-amps are very good. I was surprised, and now may be a soundcraft fan in the making.
Dave
