Billy Joel cover Bluegrass style . . .

After a long day of recording R&B RAP . . . I needed to have a BLUEGRASS moment.  My cover of Billy Joel's "YOU MAY BE RIGHT".

Ha! I love me some blew grass...

    This was "interesting?"

It was too short? (If I had a dollar for every time "A FRIEND" has heard that stated?)

This needs to be the whole song. Good job though? It's funny how almost any song can be done in a BG style? :-)

    I Love the arrangement.

Have you ever heard the original pressing of Cold Spring Harbor. One of my old friends had a copy of the original pressing with the way too fast playback speed. I think it predicted that what you have done would happen.

I like your Beatles "Girl" cover too. Sweet!

    Hey ROBBIE . . .
I don't know whats going on with me lately but I'm liking the Bluegrass.  THANKS for the ears.

    Hello HERB . . .
Cool version of Judy Garland.  I always appreciate your listen and props THANKS!

    Hey MIKE . . .
I'm sure I can find the "Cold Spring Harbor" on YouTube.  THANK YOU for giving me a listen and the kind comments on my music.

    Yo GDood/CHUCK . . .
    THANKS for the props.

    Hey FRANK . . .
I can't believe how many people I know that want to record Rap.  Yes, I needed a change.  The Banjo I programmed each note after note after note on IK's Sample Tank.  The mando . . . if you call that playing is me.  THANKS much for the props and giving me a listen.

    THANKS AGAIN GUYS

The first thing that impressed me was the excellent mix: It's perfect.

You're a really versatile artist kev as this track demonstrates.

Not really my cup of tea music-wise to be honest, but i can recognise that it was brilliantly done.

    Hey FREDDY  . . .
THANKS MUCH Freddy for giving this a listen and the support even if your not a Billy fan.  Your props and ears are greatly appreciated.

    Hey LYNN . . .
I almost did the Beatles "Taxman" but I went with Billy and figured people could only tolerate about a minute of my Bluegrass playing.

    Hey SCOTTY . . .
You know this could of used some fiddle.  Maybe someday if I can ever record something that last longer then a minute.

    THANKS AGAIN!

Kev - that was fun - I like the chord progression at :50 - reminds me of some of the cool the Beatles would do - landing on a simple triad where you'd least expect it but fitting perfectly to the song.

    Hi Kev,

How are ya? Great version of one of my least favorite songs

Excellent idea and execution for a cover.

The instruments and vocals all sound great from here. For some reason I get a sort of Beatles vibe but I can't really say why.

BTW...I can't be the only person here who would be interested in hearing the rap tunes you've been recording

    Hey GARY . . .
LOL... Maybe I didn't explain the Rap sessions very well.  It isn't me doing the Rapping . . . although that would be kind of funny.  Doing it for a friend who wants to put out a CD this summer.  Anyway. . . THANK YOU very much for taking the time to listen and support my little projects.  I really do appreciate the ears. Someone else also said that they can hear a touch of the Beatles.  That's  cool!  Now if I could only get the fingers to play like you do I would be one happy camper.  I do OK for the three chords I know. .  THANKS AGAIN, Gary!
