Is there a verdict as to whether speedstep in the bios should be shut off?

I would guess yes. There's another crucial BIOS setting, at least for my motherboard (ASUS P7P55D). I couldn't get rid of clicks/pops/dropouts until I disabled C-State. Now I get 48 sample latency with no issues whatsoever. There are some related settings - something like C1E and Intel C-STATE tech (can't actually look at them as I type). I disabled them all. I concur about leaving it off. I also don't do overclocking or any of that. I want stability - not 'game' style computer adaptation.

If you do the core parking tweak, there is no need to disable the speedstepping. If your puter is solely a DAW puter, then yes disable the speedstepping. If your puter is used for other things than a DAW, leave it enabled and use the core parking tweak. You can have two setups in the power managment. One for normal and another where all the cores are on.

Why do people even bother to set up an account for this kind of spamming? This is the internet equivalent of the poor schmuck dressed like the statue of liberty walking around the parking lot of the tax service. It can't pay enough to make it worth the trouble unless there is some way to automate the forum account setup.
