Bitcrusher in Sonar?

Hey guys!

I was doing some drum-work yesterday and needed a bitcrusher. I was 100% sure that there were a bitcrusher hidden in one of the bundled plugins but couldnt find it. Or am I wrong? Maybe it was in an older version or before 64-bit? Please enlighten me. I'm running X2 Producer 64 bit.

No one of them looks as the picture I have of it in my head. Hmmm...

I'll check out the AliasFactor one though. Thanks!

Or can you guys point me in the direction of a better one. Doesnt matter if I have to pay for it.

Interesting. I'll have a look at that, thanks. Still certain that I have seen a bitcrusher in one of my plugins that isnt alias factor or dimension...

Yup, AliasFactor is a 32-bit plugin. Should bridge just fine, though.

I'm just wondering what would qualify as a "better" bit-reduction plugin.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Strange, I only installed the 64bit SONAR X1/X2 and AliasFactor shows up for me. I thought it was a DX effect. Doesn't that mean it is a 64bit version?

Some of CW's plugins are 64 bit DX.

I for one would like a more analog, smoother sounding bitcrusher! One that authentically recreates that bitcrushed 70's sound.

I don't think there was digital audio in 1970. At least not so one would notice. But then I'm always behind the times.

No I meant bitcrusher. Maybe they sound pretty much the same. I was just thinking that there might be a bitcrusher that sounded better than others. Better conversion or whatever. I really dont know what I'm talking about as usual. ;)

Not to worry. I seem to be taken seriously too often myself. I figured you were joking. But just in case. LOL I was half joking myself. LOL

You see the irony in it all.
