I doubt I will pay upgrade fees for Studio One Pro or Reaper, but I will pay upgrade fees for Mixbus3/Mixbus32C. I wonder if Harrison will announce V4 at NAMM?

I rarely use my Ableton Live 9 Suite. I played with an early 1.0 Bitwig and just didn't get it at all. Now that they have a new licensing term I think I will not get nor be interested in it.

I've played with Bitwig 8-Track (free with Nektar keyboards) a bit. Given what they're doing with their licensing, I think it's time to scrub it.

Soundwise https://www.bitwig.com/en/bitwig-studio/bitwig-studio-2.html With all these ultra-modern modulators I feel like someone from dinosaur era. Nothing looks familiar or convenient. The only question that comes to my mind - will it really help make better music faster?
Hi Alisa , I feel the same way ... I look at that DAW and I'm totally lost looking at what appears to be the controls of an Alien Space Ship ... As far as will it make better music faster ? There is probably somebody out there that may be true for ..It's not me... that part I know for sure ..... all the best, Kenny

Honestly, all of those built-in modulators are nice, but certainly not essential. There are so many ways to get the same results, or better, in other ways. Plugins like LFOTools come immediately to mind. I prefer functionality in plugins because if it's broke, I can unplug it. Regards, Dan

I'd have to disagree. The Bitwig platform is close to Ableton Live and quite a few people use that to create alot of other music than EDM. Daniel James comes to mind as an Ableton user. Personally I've been intrueged by Bitwig and will probably atleast demo it. Might make an excellent secondary DAW (hell no am I giving up Sonar).

Was intrigued as well. Bought it. Never really got into its workflow. Did like the 32-bit capability, though. Didn't like them catering for Windoze tablets and leaving us Appletons in the cold. Main reason to get it above Ableton was its GUI. Always found Ableton a bit too Bauhaus. Still hanging on to Bitwig's 8-track version, though. Got a few of them for sketching. But in the end, Logic Pro and MainStage rule my orchard. Just saw that you're from Finland, Kuusniemi. Taught some classes in Rovaniemi once. Everybody was drunk, which was nice.
