Haven't used P5 in a long while now, but it looks like it may well be the perfect amalgamation of P5 and Live that I have been looking for...especially the way the clip triggering is located on the same screen as the arrangement view (unlike the separate screens that Live has). Got some high hopes for this one...

I remember when this was first announced a few years ago on KVR.  I didn't realize until today that the developers are apparently ex-Ableton guys.  The feature list sure looks good - I'm really intrigued by device nesting.

This pic reminds me of P5 the way the grid and the Arrangement view are on the same page.

I do see the similarity to P5.  I like that they have an explorer window on the right too.  The bottom looks kind of like a Reaktor ensemble.

It would be really cool if the success of this would lead Cakewalk to believe there could be a market in a resurrected P5.

I have stopped coming to the Cake forums, but I'm glad I changed my mind and came by today. This really has captured my interest. I still use P5 at any occasion that I can, but I want to find a product that is still being marketed, and is going to develop a user base. Cake sure missed the boat on dropping P5. I can't wait for the beta. Happy tunes my old friends.

Well,  the official release date is tomorrow,  but it seems that it's already available in some areas.

I know it's been a while,  but I still don't understand why Cakewalk decided to stop development on P5.  There's obviously still a market for this type of software.

I do find it funny how the KVR crowd completely ignored P5, and 8 years later are gushing like schoolgirls over Bitwig.

Be prepared for the bugs.  Remember,  the beta test group wasn't very large,  and this is it's first release.

KVR's forum has been bombarded with issues!!!!1

It won't be this week. I have to file and pay my taxes. I will probably download it in a couple of weeks. I'll give my opinion after that. I do expect some issues. Remember when P5 first came out.

Four bills seem a little high for a new entry, but if it does what it says, it's a good deal. Look at the thousands of dollars we've spent on Cake produces over the years. Some to be just dropped from existence.

I agree with you on that …
it would be even nicer if they offered a cross grade pricing deal…still at 4 bills if it does what it's supposed to I might be swayed ...
