Bizaare CW Marketing move (again)
Being a Producer 8.5 owner and having been reliably informed via email a Cakewalk the buy X1 get X2 free upgrade offer was to end a few weeks ago I'm glad I didn't jump at the opportunity. To buy the relevant upgrade to X2 today for me would now cost £159 from the Cakewalk store, if I already owned X1 Producer it would cost me £99 and as a previous owner of the Production suite it would cost me £79. Today and until October 31st I can actually upgrade via the Retail channel, my 8.5 to X1 Producer and get the X2 download as a free upgrade for £79, £20 cheaper than an existing X1 user, it would cost even less than that if I was in the States. I'm not complaining because I could currently get a better deal than those that have already bought X1 in the last year (if I currently had £79), I'm just amazed.

That IS a strange pricing structure and doesn't quite make much sense. I wonder if Cake is aware this?

Daryl, the more important question is: JB, do you want a dulcimer with that?

Jonbouy There is a twist here. So the normal upgrade path is L99 (no pound sign on my computer). The cheaper path you found is L79. So, you buy 50,000 of the L79s. That is going to set you back L3,950,000. But you simultaneously sell 50,000 of teh L99s. That will bring in L4,950,000 - or exactly L1,000,000 net. See I just made you a millionaire.
Some people call me Maurice SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc. Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

When The CHB is ready to sell our CD we may just want to consult with CW on best to market it.

So... I bought the Pro Chanel Module package and got X1 Expanded for free. I think that leaves me at the $ 199.00 price upgrade. I'm not ready to miove from 8.5.3 yet anyway due to computer and finance issues, so..., I guess I'll listen in to the X2 installs going on for now. But, carry on.
