Black Friday Heads Up Thread

There's no point repeating this excellent heads up thread http://www.kvraudio.com/f../viewtopic.php?t=334386 but if anyone spots any sales, especially any one day only sales, then post them here. For instance Waves are doing a 70% off sale but no details yet.

Evolve Mutations Bundle is €74.50 as part of the NI sale. This is well worth it and they've never had this on sale before so it's a unique opportunity. If you do film/TV then this is a must and the sale on Evolve (Heavyocity) makes this a great package right now. Sounds fantastic and is the best preset/programmed instrument out there.

From Orange Tree Samples Facebook page:  "Orange Friday sale here--40% OFF sample libraries (excluding Passion Flute, since that was just released and is still on a $30 USD off introductory discount). The sale ends on Monday at 11:59 PM PST, so don't miss out--use the coupon code: OrangeFriday"  In my opinion, Orange Tree Samples makes the most realistic sounding and best scripted guitar and bass libraries there are, period. There other libraries are also superb, but before OTS, I invested thousands trying to attain a realistic guitar sound/performance using VSTs and samples from Soundfonts to GigaSampler to Slayer to Virtual Guitarist to RealGuitarist to a slew of KONTAKT libraries. Nothing equals Orange Tree Samples guitar libraries for realism and usability.  http://www.orangetreesamples.com/

For those of you that missed the EastWest CCC (Complete Composers Collection) special a while back, it's offered again for 2 days only. Delivered on a hard drive (WD 1TB Blue @ 7200 rpm). 7 libraries @ 75% off. That's $3300 worth of high quality samples for approx. $800. Needless to say that I have already blown a big chunk out of my budget... for next year. Boy do I feel bad.

Hi Mike:  I like the Kramer TTT as well.  Demo'ed it last month.  It has been on sale all month.  Check under their News/waves specials and it is there with most of the other items.

For me this Waves Black Friday sale is a disappointment.  They have had these same items on sale for the same prices all month.  So, where are the special Black Friday sales?  I don't see much here that won't be available tomorrow for the same price.

Waves was a disappointment to me, also. The 70% was UP TO and only on some narrow range of things. I think I will wait for UAs Christmas sale. Hopefully the follow suit from last years discounts.

If you're shopping at the Native Instruments 50% off sale PLEASE BE AWARE that some of the offerings now WORK ONLY with KONTAKT 5 or the K5 Player!!

I was going to get the Scarbee Jay Bass...but then I noticed in the system requirements (in small print) that it only works with K5 or the K5 player.

    Really?!!

So they've revised/updated all sample libraries to take advantage of the new version? This is way over my head, but I can't imagine what must-have possibilities this would make bring.
Scarbee was already pretty good w/ version 4.

Wait - does this mean that in the event I get Kontakt 5 I also have to upgrade my libraries as well? Or does the old Scarbee runs just fine? If so this probably mean that they could have added that little something which version 5 requires on top and keep it available for 4.

I had some older libraries, included 3rd party ones, that work fine when I upgraded to Komplete 8.There are some Library updates in the NI Service Center for things ,including a K5 update.

So just so you guys know, the audiomidi.com coupon "AM15" will work on more than one order. I got the Nomad mastering plugins for a grand total of $5 and then used the same discount coupon to get BFD Eco for $14. Hard to pass that one up.

I will be installing, downloading, unzipping, and trying to learn all this new stuff till next Black Friday when the cycle will start all over again.
