Black Man Reacts

There seem to be few 'Black Man reacts to Rock Videos' popping up. Genuinely open minded guys that have zero exposure to rock and checking it out. Often from Youtube suggestion algorithm, which is giving them hits and more accessible tracks.

I find some of the responses interesting. In Justin Walkers videos, he seems genuinely surprised by the quality of singers, their range and technique. Blinkered a little by some of the screaming and growling and throaty sounds of heavier music that gets airplay, he's realizing there is more to it. First saw a video watching Heart and surprised by the harmonies, and clarity of high notes, then Queen. Although he didn't like Black Holed Sun, but did like Pearl Jam, he's figuring it out when those two collide in Temple of the Dog. Surprised that musicians just wanting to play with other musicians is more aceeptable. He's getting into Grunge, really struck by the sentiment playing and feeling of the singers.

I thank the lord every day for black people without whom we devil's would be adrift on a sea of ignorance.  Especially, musicians.  Maybe that's what I meant by nerdy jazzers the other day.  You can't be cool without a soul.

I saw one of these a while back, with a guy called 'Weabo' or something. It was an entire album playing (might have been Genesis) with him occasionally nodding his head and saying ''s**t!' or ''they killin' it!''

I don't really get it, but the comments were full of people suggesting other stuff for him to listen to and say 's**t!' about, so I guess it's popular.

I think I saw either that guy first, either that or he used the same phrase. The guy I posted is a bit more thoughtful about his response. Seems genuinly effected by what he's hearing. His reaction to Janice Joplin was quite strong.

Demonstrates that music is truly a universal language. What speaks to you speaks to you and there's no reason to allow oneself to be separated by artificial racial divisions.

Wouldn't it be awesome if this idea spread out into other areas of life?
