Black Panther. (OK - this is a test)

This is an old song - probably about 8 years old. But, I just upgraded to Sonar Professional (after using Sonar 3 for the past 14 years) and after some struggle, I was able to figure out how to use this thing a bit.

So, I took an old song and took the raw tracks and remixed using all new effects, etc. Wow, did I learn a lot.

I know there isn't anything to compare this to, but I thought I might get some feedback on if this mix sounds any good at all.

Thanks in advance for for anyone willing to take a listen.

I like the strut of it.

The mix ain't half bad. I could feel those drums coming up a little more, and the bass guitar seems to want more bottom, it's a mid-rangey bass. But you could have chose it that way?

The toms on the drums seem loud enough - they kind of leap out like it's a tom solo sometimes.

Overall, it's s slinky little number and the swing timing comes off really well.

    cheers,
    -Tom

I like it, sounds like you had some fun making it back when you did and this test with the new toys is obviously working.  Thanks for sharing Mark.

Great atmosphere and playing (as usual).
Mix-wise, everything sounds clean and clear but the drums could come up in the mix for me

Yeah, I like the strut and clean guitar tone. The playing is great and I think your polishing of this old tune was well worth the time. I'm sure you had fun regardless.  I certainly enjoyed it.

Sweet sweet tones. Agree on the thin bass, where there are a lot of songs that sound works great, there's a noticeable lack of bottom on a sparse track like this.
    Like the drums too.

Not much to add mix-wise, but the tune itself has that cool, slinky groove that you seem to do so well.   Overall this sounds like something well suited for a spy movie.
