Blown away last night

By Touchstone at Trinity Live. Having lost their singer a couple of months back they drafted in Hayley Griffiths (ex Karnataka) for the show. Ten minuets in I am thinking, how can anybody follow this! Hayley's voice worked well in this heavier band.

Interestingly they finished the set with a Karnataka song.

I managed to have a short chat with Hayley in the interval before Steve Rothery came on and I asked if it was going to be permanent, but she said it was still undecided. I hope they do, it was just too good.

The other highlights for me were Ghost Community and new band Last Flight to Pluto, one to look out for.

Rothery did a Steve Hackett style "Marillion Revisited" playing the whole of "Clutching at Straws" with a sound alike singer. I would have preferred more of his solo stuff but it was impossible not to get caught up in the euphoria of the encore "Market Street Heros"
