Blue Aston Theme

I finally found some time to work up a theme. I'm impressed at what you can actually edit. Very time-consuming, but pretty cool!
The Thread location
Just scroll down to the Blue Aston entry in the list of themes.

Updated Version 1.02
(See link above and scroll down to the Blue Aston Theme to download)

Changes:
  • Changed Event List, PRV, and Tempo Map background to allow events to be easier to see
  • Changed MSR Invert button to to take on a more concave (punched-in) appearance
  • Addressed the check boxes in Invent Inspector. (NOTE: May have to restart Sonar to see them)
  • Brightened VU meters
  • Adjusted Frozen color background color
  • Adjusted Global menu header color to appear more convex vs. concave.

Absolutely,  one of the best so far. I don't have much time to spend exploring theme editing so I have been hopping around trying different ones and never found one that was easy enough on my eyes to stick with. This one fills the bill nicely!!!!!! Great job!!!!!

Thanks for the wonderful feedback! I certainly hope this helps all of you as it does me. There's a couple of alternates I'm looking at, such as reversing the waveform/background of clips more like X1, possibly changing specific elements, such as a button or two, etc., and of course, if you see any issues with something I've missed, please let me know. I felt I edited almost everything you could edit.

It's really good. I have it set as my current theme, and will see if it continues to hold up over time. I suspect it will.

I think it's very nice an has the look of old studio hardware or test equipment. My only suggestion would be to punch up the meter display and peak level indicators in the console view. I find them a little too soft. That said, it's a great effort, many thanks to the designer.

It's funny, the meters were the very first things I started tweaking. I became inspired by those, then just got sucked in. But yes, perhaps they can glow slightly more. I do like the color, and yes, it was inspired a little by the old-school antique blue of old gear, a little by Nomad Factory plug-ins, and then I spent a lot of time on an overall pleasing color gamut that I found I could stare at for hours and never feel I wanted to shut it down. Sonar's always had the most aesthetic appeal to me, even dating back to X1.

Really fantastic job, it's super nice to look at without straining my eyes. I was wondering if anyone can tell me, if there is a way to make the full(not just the tabs) track and bus colors change like the Mercury theme does?

That one was requested, but I think that's limited to the Mercury Theme only. It's prossibly embedded in a way not easily adaptable.

All is/are welcome. I enjoyed doing this. Thanks to CW for giving us so many elements to muck with. There's a few minor items I couldn't find, but I'm impressed at what is editable, and if you're good a Photoshop, that helps, too. .PNG's rule.

Nice job! Thanks for sharing.

“Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy” is attributed to Benjamin Franklin perhaps in error, but the thought remains a worthy sentiment nonetheless.

I really like it too and replaced my own one with it almost immediately, with 2 changes: meters like others have said as I wanted more contrast and I think there's a "bug" in the checkbox graphics (I reverted to the default) as checked and unchecked in the Inspector are both empty boxes.

I have been using this theme relentlessly since the day of release. I have one major complaint!!!
The background in the event editor is almost unreadable with the dark background!!!!!! Could you, PLEASE, possibly edit this theme and change the background back to white. I have to struggle really hard to see the black fonts against that dark background. Or maybe you could change the black fonts to white and keep the dark background. I hope this is possible because other than this problem, this theme is the best ever. Hands down!

@Sidroe

You could try to change it yourself in;

Preferences >  Colors > [Color Category] Event List : Window Background.

I took a look at the theme (like it) but my event list window is still my custom color, which is pretty light.

I'm gonna have to be stupid here...

I've avoided the whole theme morass hoping to not fall into another hole that isn't involved in making actual music.  However Blue Aston actually looks useful...but I don't know where to put the darn thing.

Where should the *.sth files go?
