Blue Cat's FreqAnalyst Multi equivelents ?
just curious if there was something I missed that does the same with channel wise ?
thought someone here would know / would be clued up regarding it.

There's the Voxengo version. From what I've heard it's not as fully featured, haven't tried it though.
I have the FreqAnalyst set up in all my templates. Comes in handy when there's issues in your mix that your ears can't always hear.

you mean span ? I thought that, but didn't think it was the same.. I was curious about this.. if you could use it on the buses as well as the channels.
I do have a few metering things, but wasn't 100% sure if they could do the separate elements.

I'm sure it's similar to FreqAn where any signal can be routed. A single channel, buss, send/ return, master.

There is also MMultiAnalyzer from Melda Production. The full price is $65 but they have sales quite often, I picked it up for much less than that recently. Don't know how it compares to the Blue Cat one but it works very well.

Voxengo's GlissEQ lets you monitor multiple tracks' spectra, plus it's a nice EQ to boot. And really, what's the point of watching pretty spectral pictures if you can't actually modify the spectrum? This would be my first choice. It's currently $85.
I liked the ease of use of MMultiAnalyzer when I demoed it, but it gets pretty CPU-intensive with many tracks displayed. If you've got a hot machine this may not be a factor, though.
I've never demoed the BlueCat analyzer, only because for this tightwad a hundred bucks is too much for a nonessential visual aid. I can do the same thing, albeit less conveniently, with multiple instances of SPAN - for free.

thanks guys, I'll do a bit more research the other 2 look interesting also.. and maybe I'll wait for a melda sale (I've contented the maker in the past and he's helpful) .. I do currently have various metering options, but hadn't realised you show them layered like that.

Same here. The sad truth is that stacking spectral graphs is greatly overrated as a mix technique, although it has merit as a learning tool.

And I watched the BC videos? It looks ugly :-( I'm not stupid, and I can learn to use SW. I'm trainable. But it's a question of hours in a day. I fight w/my beloved Fab plugs, the UI, and how to use them best. You have to weigh what you are trying to accomplish, vs. the tools available, vs. which are good/best, vs. cost, ease of use, how often will you use them, etc. etc. etc... And most of us have more than we need :-) I know I do.
I really like the UI on my Alloy plug. It's a breeze, and lots of nice presets. Many others as well.
