Blue Grand at SampleTekk

Just got an email from Per at SampleTekk.  They have introduced their Blue Grand, which is a more ambient, mellower instrument.  Here is the info from the webpage:  http://www.sampletekk.com/proddetail.php?prod=STDELIVER-041-FORMAT

It used the large Malmsho Grand but was close and ambient miked--room miked and it was tuned for this feel/tone/style.  To my ears it is darker and much more mellow than the White sisters which also used the same Malmsho Grand for their samples.

Not sure if I will get this or not, but wanted to pass it along because Per's products are usually worth the cost and they are the most affordable quality piano samples around.

Take a look and listen.  What do you guy hear or think?

I downloaded it earlier today, 1.5 GB in a .zip file. Won't have a chance to play with it until later this week. The DL was very fast and filled the pipe feeding my place.

As you say, Per's products are quality libraries and well worth the price. There is a sale on the first 200 Blue Grand packages sold for $29. No Brainer...

It is a 'no frills' darker piano and I already have a project in mind for it.

    Kind regards,
    Rick

Hey there Worra!  What is the interface like on the Kontakt version of this Blue Grand?  Is it like the Old Lady or like the new interface you have for your Black for Kontakt (5)?

It's just a basic Kontakt interface, but there is just one NKI, so there is not the mixture of instruments and multis one find in the earlier products.

What it lacks in looks it more than makes up for in sound. $29 well spent IMHO.

The reason that I decided to make a "no thrills" instrument when it comes to GUI, was that I wanted to make an instrument that concetrated on the sound alone. I also wanted to keep the price down. The plan is to make a serie of instrument, pianos and others, that's focused on character and quality. I also want the instruments to be affordable. So, therefore, no glossy GUI.
