Blue microphone - Spark

Does anyone know how to work it - 

I took it out of the box and I was careful while opening the package it was in for sure - and I have yelled into in as loud as I can -- but I don't hear anything 

I was wondering if I am missing something ? Anything I am doing wrong.

 I hold it pretty close to my mouth so I don't think thats the problem. 

HELP!

ya .. but nothing happened after I hooked it up - and it got in the way.... so I took it off
 
 
 

Okay.....try this! Sing the intro to Styx's song "Renegage" Ya know the song "Oh mama I'm in fear for my life....." When you get to the part where you yell NOOOOOOO!, the mic should start to work. Gotta be loud though, and open the windows first.
