Blue screen with Windows-10
Twice this week I've gotten a blue screen. Yesterday, I had to hold the power button to power off and back on, wait 10 minutes for updates. Just now I lost internet and couldn't resole it so I did a reboot and get the new version of the BSOD. The "driver power state failure" error. Wow.. this just keeps getting better.
I found this but don't know if I need to DL and run it or not:
http://wind8apps.com/driver-power-state-failure-windows-8-1-windows-10/ the reboot got me back online.
I'm not sure what to do or not do. I changed the settings so I can choose when to restart but that really means nothing to me. I'm still going to get the updates and really, I have no problem getting the "important" updates. I would install them manually anyway. I don't want driver updates and I think I managed to stop MS from doing them. I think I will go back to the automatic updates, sans driver updates and "other MS product" updates.
Maybe that is the answer... I really don't know but at least this way, if my devices are working.. MS wont be fiddling with my drivers. I'm not sure what they did. I'm going to look to see what updates have been installed in the last week and if any drivers have been installed maybe I'll roll them back, I guess just an uninstall will do that.
Perhaps I will run it by you good folks here before I do anything. I've never had any problems with this computer before W-10.
Frankly, I like W-10 but it is scaring me.
They seem to be going to the same sort of model that Cakewalk is using. Pay (probably yearly) and they just maintain the current Windows OS. This free upgrade is just to get everyone onboard. Now, if it will work and not cause problems.
I'll follow up in a post here with the changes I made in advanced re: updates. Maybe I did something wrong. I just like to push buttons and turn knobs you know.
