Bobbys thing

This is the scoop,

brother in law visited over the weekend and put down a base track.
Later I put down some git and drums.
Its only about 1min long and the musicianship leaves alot to be desired, but........
please give it a listen an tell me what you think on all aspects.

    Hey Joe,
You can definitely work this theme into the verse of a song.
Fuzz bass, eh? Have heard that for a while
I'm listening with headphones right now, but it sounds like you might want to trim the guitars a little in the low mids (below 300Hz); although it's a lot less of an issue on this one than on Green Hulk. Also, the drums have a more defined sound on this. Yep, I'd say you're making good progress.

This mix has some serious bass region issues. Boomy and mushy. It sounds like a pipe organ down there.

What are you using for monitors?

    Thanks for listening,

    Ed
I read somewere that if you hard time setting the bass with the mix(like I seem too)
a little distortion/fuzz can give it the glue it needs to keep the whole mix.
I'll look 300 and below over.

I've been using jbl 4208's powered by a hafler DH-200
The room is really "live" however

hey kids. Those 4208's leave a bit to be desired. I bought 2 pair once for apprentices and sold them as quick as I could. They have extended highs and bass. It's terrible to think that having to buy new monitors might be in you future but...

Try putting some throw carpets on the walls and something in all the corners. Mix at low volume and get close to the speakers for now. Guitar and drums should work-but the bass needs to be tamed. Try cutting everything below 50 about minus 10-like a high bass. Mess around between 63-100 to see which of those frequencies is the main "warmth giver". Put 125 and 250 at different times to the ceiling to see which one adds attack and which one adds mud-raise one-lower the other. And then add some "knock" around 2k which should make it bite more. Also some compression .
