Same thing happened to me when I got the X1 Power book a while ago.  Opened up the box and found the Proteus Planet Earth expansion inside as well.

Mad thing was - the book was given away free as a special offer; so I got the excellent X1 power for nothing, AND they threw in a free gift of the Planet Earth expansion.  I was dumbfounded.

Thank you Cakewalk.  That left me more money to buy more Cakewalk stuff...

Same thing happened to me.  I think since they're transitioning mainly to downloads, they're moving out their older stock anyway they can.  I didn't even get a box or manuals with my X1 disks (disappointing, but okay).  If cutting costs on physical goods helps them invest more in R&D while keeping prices down, I'm all in favor!  And in this age of iPads and Kindles, who needs paper manuals, anyway?  (Well, I do...since I own neither...but that's another story...)

Anyway, I share your enthusiasm and appreciation.  Thanks Cakewalk!  :)
