Bounce to Clip doesn't always work

Most of the time, when I have 2 midi clips overlapping each other, I can get them to combine using Bounce to Clip. At least, that's how it worked in 8.5.3 and earlier. However, in X1, my clips aren't combining. When I Bounce to Clip, they flash, but stay separate. Any ideas on why this might be the case, and how to force them to combine? Thanks!

Yesterday I was having this problem as well in a project that seems to have a lot of problems.  I think all you can do is try to restart the program as this would appear to be another bug.  If that doesn't work, perhaps the project has corrupted.

The project I am working on has already corrupted on me once and has been rebuilt and is now showing trouble again.  It has been my experience that all projects do this after a while which is making me start to doubt my ability to use Sonar long term.

It might have something to do with automation envelopes. I had some volume envelope nodes overlapping my clips. When I removed those nodes and forced the envelope to "jump" instead of change over my clip, I was able to combine the clips.

Finding and removing any automation nodes overlapping clips seems a bit clunky. Is there a more elegant workaround?

Drag it into a new blank project. (sounds like you might have already done that though if your project was corrupt before) Similar thing with the split too not splitting clips after a while. Corrupting a project seems so much easier these days.
