Bouncing Melodyne

No doubt this has been discussed many times, but I would just like to validate:

If I bounce a Melodyne track down to another track, can I be assured there will be no loss of quality or change between what I hear in Melodyne and what I hear in the bounced track?  I would of course turn off reverb and EQ before bouncing.

Any other tips for optimizing the level and quality?

Thanks!

Konrad

Bounce to clips only applies clip level FX. It would not include track level FX like the pro channel.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

And yes.. Offline rendering of melodyne should be at least as good as online.

Konrad, I notice you mention bounce to tracks. I thought I would mention that my work flow so far has been to build a comp track... Bounce that to a new track... His the comp track and apply melodyne to clips in the new track... Then bounce to clips to apply the melodyne changes.

Edit... His should be hide

I am confused.  I did not think Melodyne would bounce to clips--only to a whole track.  In any case, bouncing the whole track is what I want to do.  I did not follow the gswitz comments about comping.  I am editing an entire track in Melodyne and then need to bounce it so I have the corrected track as a wav.

Region FX are actually pre-Clip FX according to this chart:
http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR X3&Lang=EN&Req=Mixing.07.html#1096046

So as with Clip FX I'd imagine they would bounce at the clip level.   Though I suppose you may get the same result when bouncing an entire track?   I've never tried bouncing clip FX to a track before...

For me one of the best parts about the new comping and ARA is that I don't have to do all those steps. I just make a comp from multiple takes and apply Melodyne to whichever clip I think it needs. I never flatten a comp and just leave Melodyne on.That way I can always still opt for another take and it saves me a ton of work and time. Are your arrangements that huge that you need to flatten and bounce everything?

Crap...  looks like my link has a case of wrap-a-roo.

Anyhow... that's the one!   With Region FX nestled between clip envelopes and clip FX, I just treat it as a clip based object.
