Bouncing tracks killed my mix...
Well, this sucks: I bounced a killer mix in Platinum, and saved it - luckily. Then I decided to bounce all the tracks down to get rid of Audiosnap etc. Only thing is, it zeroed ALL my EQ settings on the tracks' Prochannel and on the busses's Prochannel, but I did not notice it and saved on exit.. Come back in to make small change - hey, what do you know?! My mix has no EQ settings anymore. I have noticed this bug before, but this time it got the better of me. But there's more... I copied ALL the Eqs over from a previous mix, one drag and drop at a time x 48 tracks. Save it... And the Eqs are zeroed yet again on opening the file. Not very happy right now..

Sounds as though you froze the tracks - which included EQ - instead of bouncing.

Hi Bristol, nope, I reckon I would have noticed if I froze 48 tracks as we still don't have a bulk freeze option :O) I bounced them.

Curious. You say Pro Channel so I'm guessing it's the Quad Curve EQ yes?

Hi Bristol, correct - Quad Curve. It seems most of my PC compressors have also been reset at second glance. It's a real mess. Ludwig

This is a great lesson that describes how "save as" can save your a$$. Rocky

I had some instability in a project last night as well - most (but not all!) of the plugin automation on a track just vanished into the ether somehow. I will not discount the possibility of user error, it's a complex project and I've been tweaking it and adding things for a couple of days now, but I certainly have no memory of zeroing 90% of that envelope. Also a couple of Melodyne region FX clips disappeared. Of course I spin off project copies from time to time, but evidently not often enough - on examination of what it would take to migrate relevant changes from one project to another, I elected to just re-do the automation and pitch work - it wasn't so much, luckily - but if this kind of instability happens too often, it will become a drag. Meanwhile, I'm trying to step up my use of the Save As Copy command so if anything goes pear-shaped there's a breadcrumb trail...

Yes Bluzdog, I am a Save-freak. CTRL-S are my most worn-out keys. This is the one time I was in a hurry and did not check the file after making a major edit - Murphy's law right? Nope, not Offset Mode. The faders would be on Zero then. This is a bug that happens when you bounce clips. I've seen it before but it's not very reproducible.

I think he meant to recommend using Save-As instead of normal Save and giving the new version a new name so you don't risk overwriting a good file with a bad one, whether because of a SONAR issue or because you inadvertently changed/deleted something that you didn't intend to. I do this version-saving a lot, but not always.

Hmm I suppose you don't have a prior version of the project with settings intact that you can retry the bounce on? Please be as specific as possible about the project. Did the reset occur with all PC modules or only some? Was the reset only on PC effects chains or on normal PC modules as well? From your description it would appear that some operation caused the fx state to be initialized. If you can get a repro for this or narrow it down further it would be great.
