Bouncing tracks problem

I've been using sonar 7 and encountered a very weird problem...suddenly when i try to bounce, say, three tracks onto one new track I end up with three new tracks in the exact same formation ie/ I had a seperate track for verse drums, chorus and middle eight and I end up with three new tracks, one with vers, one with chorus etc.  Never had this happen before, anyone know what's going on?

Hi, Loz - In the dialogue box for bouncing, you have an option to select on the right "Source Category."  Somehow you've selected Tracks instead of "Entire Mix" (which isn't literally the entire mix - only the entirety of what you've selected).  When you have Tracks selected, you get individual tracks just as you're describing.

    Thanks for your reply.

I had used the tracks option before to choose tracks to mixdown from multiple to one....when I select Entire Mix I just get my audio interface output in the source box .  Something has definitely changed....can I use the entire mix and just mute tracks I don't want on the console or track view....?

    Thanks again for your help

Hmmm, well bouncing with Tracks selected should always get you separate tracks.  But you can use Entire Mix without needing to mute the tracks you don't want.  Only the selected/highlighted tracks and the portion of the Time Line activated will bounce down.  No need to solo tracks either - just make a specific selection, and Sonar considers that "Entire Mix."

Sorry, should have said I THOUGHT I used Tracks!  When you use Entire Mix how do you select the tracks you want?  When I choose entire mix as the source all I see in the Soucre Buses/Tracks is ASIO UX2 Output 1-2, which is my audio interface.

Again, thank you for taking the time to help.  Benn off the computer for a while and came back to tidy up something and now it's all going a bit wrong!

Open "Help" and you will find a very good explanation of how to do what you want to do. Much faster than waiting for a reply here.

lol-nprime has a point there.  But I have a minute, I'll try to explain.

Sweep your cursor through the section of the time line you want to include in the bounce.

While holding down Ctrl, click in the header of each track you want to bounce.  They will be the only ones "highlighted" (they actually turn black).  There's your selection - Those will the only tracks bounced.

    Thanks, once again....night, night.
