Yep, sounds fine to me. I like the deeper backing vocal, that works nicely. Reminds me of The Rezillos.

    Thank you :)
I forgot to mention my friend is the drummer and his wife is the singer. The two of them wrote the song and recorded it all on a Zoom 24R in like 3 days. Talk about an ear worm. lol it's the 1st song they wrote together. with 3 kids running around the house. takes me a year to almost get a song finished. ha!

Well it's basically a 12-bar blues with a couple of different turnarounds, I'm sure you could bang one of those out yourself in 3 days It is catchy though.

Short and sweet sounds fine here, everything present and correct and not a bad recording considering the equipment used.

Dave, you really captured an era.  This song drives and leaves me wanting more.  My only suggestion would be to turn the vocal and lead guitar up a notch or two.  Yet, as is, it's kinda like a period piece that would fit in with some of the great punk songs of all time.  Kudos to all.

    All the best,

    one massage... :)
I mixed that version on my mixing system monitors. Sounded great everywhere normal but I put it on my laptop and well... a bit on the low side. I've been tunning my room so I don't have to use the ARC. it dident work! lol HiEnd has always been the problem. I'll take one more crack at the room but then I will have to re cal the ARC if it cant be fixed.

So on the laptop I pulled up The Ramones for reference and pulled up the high end on the song. I sent 3 different mixes to them from 3 different system setup locations. They picked the one they liked.

Also they are sending the wave file to Reverb and reverb will compress it once. They do mangle MP3 files when uploaded. I hope they send my ¼ inch laptop speaker mix. :) lol

It's kind of funny, my buds wife is on the city board and a school teacher... Big Time Moonlighting punkrocker. :)

Thanks to all, it really means a lot to me!!! :)

    Peace!
     EDIT: forgot to say.
I was given instructions to keep her voice a bit in the mix. shy vocalist for now.
Also on the funny side. I was wondering when he sent me that intro if it was real myself and was sent by mistake.  Lol
Well he meant to send it… BUT that’s all I’m going to say about that… hehehe! ;)

This is a music genre about as far away as you can get from what I usually listen to, but I liked this a lot.
Kinda cool that the vocalist is a school teacher and on the city board, like she's living a whole other secret life or something.

Vox could have come up just a bit.

Hum in the beginning before was either a punk statement or a mistake.

I love it!!!  You captured the sound of the mid to late "70's.  It reminds me of a place called the Buffalo Roadhouse and Tampa's premier punk band called Zenith Nadir.  I love those "pumping" guitars and vocals.  Excellent!
