Braintree Update 1b is Now Available
Hi guys, Today we released a quick crash fix for all flavors of SONAR. It is available in Command Center. Just click your SONAR product on the left, and then click the "Update" button on the right. This small update only affects customers that take advantage of the monthly billing cycle. Feel free to skip the update and wait for the next one if it doesn't apply to you. But, there's also no harm in installing it, if you want to. This is pretty exciting for us (even though it's a bit of a drag that it was needed). It allowed us to exercise an "emergency release" in approximately 3 days after a report. We won't likely need to do this often, but it's great to know that we'll be able to provide you the kind of support you deserve. Bill Jackson SONAR Product Manager

Yup. Good catch. I guess that's what happens when you don't spend months repeating the name of an update, and instead just do it :). Fixing the title of this thread.

Thx, bob n splat..... I am not trolling or anything. This is what I read: Par.1: there a fix for all versions of sonar. Dl via C3. Par.2: only affects monthly billing cycle client (me). No mandatory update Par.3 bakers not proud of needing the fix but still are content as they can deploy within DAYS. Ok, I'm reading over it or something. I have no clue. So please...

All you need to read is the first post. Please ignore everything else it's just noise. We could paraphrase the first post if you like but all we would be doing is simply restating... There is no further information. Just go into Cakewalk Command Centre and install it I suggest. Thanks

Doing the update... busy downloading. As I tried explaining I don't see an explanation on what issue is being addressed. I tried to sum up the perception I have in the paragraphs of the first post. No need to paraphrase. Just an answer. I am sure splat you are misinterpreting me, not trying to be funny. I guess I will notice the difference after I start up the updated sonar. Thanks for trying to help. I'll come back if I find what's fixed and report it here in case someone else has the same question. Could you post your findings Robert?

I'll copy and paste what they said in post #1: " This small update only affects customers that take advantage of the monthly billing cycle. " So if you aren't on the monthly billing cycle not really worth it (personally though I install patches regardless because I know developers tend to sneak fixes in by stealth). If you are looking for what was in the braintree update (the previous update) check here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3181979 Cheers... p.s. No worries I understand from the get go you were asking serious questions.

Sorry. It's not too exciting, so I figured we could skip the details. But specifically, it's a fix for the case where a members payment is late by a day or more for whatever reason. We usually offer a "Grace Period," which gives you a warning and an opportunity to sort things out before SONAR reverts to Demo Mode. In Braintree, we were unfortunately crashing on launch in this state.

Aha.... thanx Bill. That cleared up some confusion. Splat, it is only till now I understand you gave the answer. Guess a bit to cryptic to me. Sonar crashed twice on me just yet after the update. Could this be a coincidence, been crashing often. Well keep up the good work, keep on baking Guess won't be posting anymore on this ey Robert silly me looking for new goodies...

Oddly enough, when I updated Sonar on the 2nd, C3 just showed "an update is available". Tonight, it read "Braintree update is available". This was the first time I had actually seen the word "Braintree" on my screen, outside of the forums. I don't know if that's significant, but it seemed odd. It also appears we have different build #s from the once and done guys. My "About Sonar"screen shows Version:21.01.00 BUILD 6. I don't see the build #s others have referred to. It makes sense, though. I'm sure there is special code that might otherwise not be present. Nice splash screen, by the way, Cakewalk. It's a good look. I haven't had any crashes, but I am also running the 32 bit version. I didn't try the 64 bit. Tbh, Sonar 32bit and X3e 32bit have been a dream on this machine, and I have a lot of favorite 32bit plug-ins.

This doesn't effect me, as paid upfront, but it's good to see that fixes are being released when ready when deemed necessary and not fixed to be part of a big month (or so) release. I like this pragmatic approach

Well, change is never easy but there is a transitional period we're going through where probably most longtime CW users have never not loaded an update (& sometimes rolled back) - so the Command Center is still a bit of a shock. It may be the green, yellow & red thing that is disconcerting but they're hard to ignore when it's launched. I still use DimPro & think Rapture is very good, but those red lights do bug me because I'm not installing them again for the nth time, but for some bizarre reason I couldn't stand that yellow light in Platinum even though I know the update didn't affect me. I will get over it :-).
