Breaker Breaker (a music game i made)

hey everyone!

i just finished making a flash based videogame that i've been planning for over 2 years. it's called "Breaker Breaker" and it's a music rhythm puzzle arcade game. you can play it at: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Sharmandra/breaker-breaker?referrer=davidrosen

i came up with the concept and made all the music and sound effects. one of the main hooks of the game is that as you build your combo, the music builds and new tracks are added into the mix. make sure to check out the instructions to get the gist of it... but you all being musicians should get it... 100bpm 4/4 time on all the songs for now ;-)

the timing was just right for putting this game out to be included in the Project Eden music game contest, so if you like the game, please rate it. we really appreciate it. (i feel corny asking for votes but you know, it helps haha).

thanks and enjoy and any and all feedback is appreciated.

thanks,

Dave

Well, it took a long time to load? You could try putting it on a streaming site, like SC or RN, or SC?

I listened to the bit on the intro, as I didn't want to play. But it seemed to have a nice powerful bass/sub-bass. The snare could use some verb and EQ, it could be a lot better to fit that fat bass. I would bring the strings in the background up a bit.

actually part of the reason it takes a while to load is all the music files. the music is all split apart into separate tracks and new tracks are mixed in as your combo grows in the game. there's 3 different songs and each one is split into 10 separate tracks that grow into the full song if you're really doing great at the game. when you mess up the music explodes and drops back to the initial loop.

if you check out my RN profile in my signature down below you can hear a bunch more of my music, but i was actually more looking to get feedback on the game and the way it uses music.

Well feel free to comment on the tune? MFer is the one I have up now? The idea of a music game is pretty cool? I don't really play games on-line, but I know there's a huge market for it. Good luck with it Dave. I don't see a sig on your Cake site? You can edit your profile here and put a site up in your signature?

    Oh crap, wait a minute.

Yeah, you  have that bass/sub bass thing "down..."

    I'm listening to Scars.

Then I listened to broken down, I think you did a good job here. I would compress that snare a bit more (the attack) But I'm no pro Dave... So take anything I say with a grain of salt?

The New World, I really liked. I might smash it a bit more before that lead instrument comes in? To make the whole thing louder/less dynamic. But I like the idea/musicality.

You seem to have quite a talent for what it is you do... I may consider bringing in some sort of "choir" on New World as it develops...
