Breaking in X1, need some help?

Im moving up from hs7, and got a couple things i need help with. first, i cant find audio settings in the menu, i need to adjust the sampling rate. Also, i use the blank template 1000% of the time, and its not in my list of template choices and i dont know why? I opted to keep folders from hs7 but i didnt think it would matter since i always used the blank template? Also whats bugging me the most is i cant use the pentagon I vocoder, with no explanation. I try to insert the synth and sonar just tells me its unable to and that the synth may have been installed improperly. But i didnt adjust any settings, I did the standard installation. Any answers?

ya wicked is right..hit p and it will take you too the same menu as hs7..i could be wrong but im not sure your templetes will work with x1..its a totaly new gui and noty quite the same as hs7..you might be able to go to open progect when you first start up x1..then choose your templete.

To get to the Preferences dialog, hit the querty keyboard "P" key (as already said) or go to the SONAR Toolbar menu Edit/Preferences top left of SONAR window.

To use the Pentagon, you will have to run SONAR X1 as a Administrator. To do this rightclick the X1 icon on the desktop and select run as administrator. Or rightclick it and select Properties, and then click the Advanced button, and click the box next to "Run as an administrator. Click Apply and OK. That will enable X1 to run as an administrator whenever you start it by doubleclicking the desktop icon.

If Pentagon doesn't work after this, you will have to turn off User Account Control and do what I wrote above.

To get a blank Template, delete all the tracks in a normal Template, rename the project to suit yourself, and save the project as a Template. You will then have a blank Template (the one you just made) in the list of Templates under the New Project dialog.

X1 does have you sctarching your head at first. Once you get to know where things are and some good short cuts it's actually fun to use. Check out the Groove 3 X1 video's. They helped me a lot.
