Breakthrough in Plug-in Filter Technology

Came across this on the web and thought it worth sharing …

Humongous Audio, a company that specializes in computer sound production software, announced today that it was about to release an important new product, an implementation of the long-sought-after but elusive linear-phase all-pass filter.  According to HA CEO Pete E. Barnum, the breakthrough was the product of many years of R&D within the company.  He continued:

“We asked our engineers to forget everything they knew about filter design and re-think this problem from the ground up.  It took quite a lot of time and money but they ultimately succeeded beyond our most optimistic expectations.  Not only is the algorithm we invented enormously CPU-friendly, the software offers virtually zero latency.  We firmly believe this will be a game-changer.”

Release details and pricing have not been finalized, but HA promises to supply this information before close of business today, April 1st.

Sometimes you want your filter to let everything through. Just because nothing is filtered out doesn't mean it's not working.

    It's Bass, not Bass.
