Bring Back "Tempo Ratio"
In older versions of Sonar, you could scale your tempo map (which was especially nice for recording at a slower tempo but keeping all your tempo changes intact.) Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to resurrect this feature. I miss it!

I strongly agree with this suggestion. I used this feature a lot.

Maybe it was taken away when recording audio become more usual - it worked if there were only MIDI tracks in the project. Make a feature request!

Sometimes I simulate tempo ratio by recording difficult keyboard parts at the end of the project with slower tempo. After recording I move clips by using the "move by measure" snap option.

Yes, seems to me it would be be fairly straightforward to bring back the original implementation and have it automatically enable Audiosnap Autostretch on all existing audio clips that aren't already looped, so long as there are no incompatible conditions in the project like locked clips. It also occurs to me that it would be nice to have an 'Apply' button that would render the chosen ratio to the tempo map.

You can still use the tempo ratio function by putting it in one or more of the custom buttons on the control bar. Right click one of the custom buttons, choose "Commands" and then "tempo Ratio 1" and so on. Hope this helps .. Cheers Dave

At this point this converges with the Vaispeed Tape function, doesn't it? To be able to adjust tempo and pitch of a project at will.

Detwoen, I'm not having any luck setting up Tempo Ratio as you suggested. I created a custom button for Tempo Ratio 2, but I don't see where to set that ratio. Mitch I.

Hi Mitch I use 3 custom buttons - Tempo Ratio 1, Tempo Ratio 2 (normal tempo) and Tempo Ratio 3. This means I can slow down a part and return it to the normal speed - must admit I don't use the Tempo ratio 3 button much. To adjust the different ratios, shift - click the button. You then get a dialog box where you can set each tempo.

I just tried that -- Shift-click the new custom Tempo Ratio 2 button -- but nothing happens. I also tried Alt-click and Control-click, also with no result. I also tried with Tempo Ratio 1 and 3. I wonder why it doesn't work for me. I'm using up-to-date Sonar Platinum.

Well that's the darndest thing! Just before my last post to you, I did shift click and it worked. Came up with the old 'change ratio' button. When I do it now - nothing. It's almost as though I used the last bit of functionality from the old version. I hadn't used the shift click feature for years before that. Sorry - that's all I got until someone else can offer any ideas.

Re our tempo ratio post a month or so ago, I've found that Shift - LEFT click will bring up the ratio settings. Give that a try. Worked 3 times for me this morning Cheers Dave
