Browser Sythn Rack track name suggestion
Hi there.... I am probably not the first one, but when having lots and lots of sythns tracks loaded into a project and when you go look at the browser sythn rack and all one sees is just the name of the plugin, Play, Play, Omnisphere, Omnisphere over and over again, it's hard to know which one you are not using anymore. I do realize you can click on the actual sythn in the browser rack, and it will highlight the actual track, but when you have dozens or more of these, it gets a little lost:) I suggest, that when you actually label the track with a descriptive name, please, reflect that track name in the browser sythn rack too. Thanks..

Also synth rack positions should follow track positions - and outputs positions should also follow track positions .

Synths with multiple outputs can feed more than one track, so your suggestion would probably not work. As a (manuell) workaround, you can rename the synths in the synth rack to a more descriptive name. Best, Klaus

I am suggesting for outputs to follow track positions (in the drop down list/ of outputs ) - so it will work , if track 4,18,36 are all receiving from output 2 , then I drag track 18 to position 14 , then it should reflect the new position in the drop down output list .
You can currently label a track output in synth rack browser and it will reflect on the output drop down list , so if you have multiple outputs from one source you could name that primary source something to suit , which would then show on all the same source outputs in track view .

How 'bout when I click the synth in the rack, all of the tracks that feed it get highlighted in some way that is obvious, but different from the standard selected track highlight. Also, how about a "Hide all other tracks" feature? Regards, Dan

that's the thing.....one shouldn't need to manually name the synth in the rack...it should get named the instant you name the track itself and reflect that:)

This assumes a one-to-one correspondence between synths and tracks. That only occurs if you stick with single-in single-out synths and always only use simple instrument tracks.

Yeah, I never use simple instrument tracks, so my suggestions stay. Dan

This is somewhat doable by selecting "Mute" or "Solo" button. Which I also use to identify "dead" synths - synths that for some reason no longer work or connect to a MIDI track, which seems to happen often.
