Browser help please

This is really annoying but probably something very simple to fix.
 
When auditioning audio files in the media browser the up and down arrow keys on the pc keyboard flicks between track strips in the console rather than the files in the browser (have to use the mouse and click on each file which is very slow)
 
I must be locked onto something without knowing what I have pressed. Any idea what I am doing wrong.

    I'm pretty sure that's intended behaviour for the browser.

    jason this has happen to me as well,but its because the focus is not in the browser,its on the track view..make sure focus is in the browser..just click in the browser area anywhere..then focus is in there..use up down to cycle through..it works for me,i just comfirmed it..if its not working when you try it like ive described,the n make sure you have both x1 patches(x1 a,x1b)

    Thanks. have tried that option but still flicks through track strips. If I start a project and first use the browser with the arrow keys its fine. Just when I do something else,ie come out of the browser this is when the problem begins,I thought it would be that I was not focussed on the browser so clicked on it but still no joy :(
