Budget delay pedal?

I want a straightforward footswitch or simialr device that I can use to apply delay/echo to my vocals when performing live. Ideally, I'd buy something like the Digitech 300, with a range of effects, but I can't afford one right now - does anyone know of a budget device? What about a cheap guitar pedal? Would that work on voacls?

A good solution would be to maybe pick up an old, used, rack mounted Midiverb III or something similar.  I see them all the time going for 40 bucks or so.  Tie it into a midi controller ($15? used) and you've got a nice, quality, multi-effects unit at your disposal.

The Ibanez DE7 can be found for pretty cheap and was one of my favorite delays when I used pedals. Not sure how it would work for vocals.

If you have $200 i'd go for the behringer virtulizer, this will give delay and other time based modulation effects and even though behringer get a bums rap, these effects unit's work and are well made, all metal.  In fact i'd go so far to say that behringer have improved over the years but def stay away from the plasic stuff they make.

Go to Ebay and search for a used Midiverb rack mounted FX ....

I buy and sell gear on Ebay from time to time. The price is really good and you can find some great stuff there.

I used a Midiverb II for quite some time before selling it on Ebay. It was superb for what you want to do.

I would be cautious about using a guitar pedal effect for vocals. I haven't looked at the specs for the pedals in a very long time but I'm guessing the frequency response (bandwidth) is not a great as it needs to be for clear vocals. Besides, the inputs are all high impedence (guitar input ) as opposed to the XLR used on the better mics.

You can buy a nice Midiverb on Ebay for the same amount as a decent guitar pedal, and the midiverb will have a ton more presets..... my MVII had 99 presets....reverbs, chorus, echo, flange, and more....all in stereo BTW.
