Bug Hunt - X1b

I've got two so far.

1) I am seeing an occasional bug in the new Prochannel implementation where the first change on a control will not switch a Prochannel component to active status.  This only occurs with the EQ and the Compressor.  The Tube saturation always works as expected.  I have seen this in a folder - first track and the track was an audio output track for a softsynth.   I've also seen it occur on a lone audio track when the Edit filter was set to Audio Transients.

2) That said, I noticed that if I switched the tube saturation on for a track and varied the gain, I would see a peak value appear in the Console view channel even though I haven't engaged play.  Not a deal breaker but it still is a bug - shouldn't see changes in peak values if there are no peaks.

    Can anyone else confirm these:

1: Event list view, column titles missing "Velocity" and "Note duration".

2: Create a soft synth automation envelope for any parameter, then draw (for example) a saw wave at 16th grid resolution, zoom in horizontally into the middle of the automation envelope then try to lassoo the nodes while dragging (to the right) outside the clip pane boarders.
Result: The lassoo creates strange shapes and the nodes are not selected.

A similar issue to number 2 was present in the PRV in a past version of sonar (and fixed)

I'll give that a try but what throws a monkey wrench into your explanation is that the Tube saturator works.  Is this rule global for the whole plugin or is each component independent?

I think that these projects may have started in 8.5.3 so could that be a factor?

Part of betatesting is to get reproducible behavior.  Hopefully by posting here, I can find people who can also reproduce the problems.  Then someone can go on that PITA problem reporter page and report it.  I hear they randomly give out a door prize for the best problem reports. Something along the lines of a free tour of the shipping department of Cakewalk or something.

I still have the disappearing control bar. It is a project-template started in X1 and modified in X1a. I will try making a new template and see if it still occurs. For now at least on pre X1b template-projects opened in X1b the control bar disappears when the program is minimized and then of course re-animated.

I just found one that hasn't been resolved. Don't know if it was on the fix list or not ...

The display for the EQ doesn't reflect the changes you are making if you use the adjustment knobs until you click on the EQ display. That seems to force a manual refresh of the EQ display and then your adjustments show up.

    Hi Freddie H,

Last night I loaded up the very first project I started with X1, prior to any patches. It became corrupted so I had to scrap it even after X1a. I opened it up with X1b and it's working perfectly. I was mixing/mastering it for 7 hours straight last night into this morning and I didn't run in to any problems switching compressor types. I didn't have a single glitch, stutter, hiccup, any problem at all other than what I posted in post #25 above in this thread.

You may want to look at some other things besides X1 is what I'm getting at. I put it through some rigorous testing last night and it's working flawlessly for me so far.

    Good luck!

    Bub

I'll give that a try but what throws a monkey wrench into your explanation is that the Tube saturator works.  Is this rule global for the whole plugin or is each component independent?
I think that these projects may have started in 8.5.3 so could that be a factor?

It only depends on whether you ever used any pro channel component in X1. 8.5 plays no role in this since prochannel did not exist in 8.5. If you have ever enabled a pro channel module then it will never auto enable again. That is by design.
