Building DAW - Rackmount Case Recommendation

Hi all,

I am starting the research phase of building my new DAW. I'm currently running a P4 Prescott 3.2 w/ 2gb RAM and a few drives in an Antec Sonata case. I've recently gone on a EastWest buying bonanza with their 1/2 off sale, and now I could use a little more horsepower...possibly end up with 2 DAWs sharing the load.

I'm pretty sure I've settled on the E6600 (maybe 6700) with an Asus P5B Deluxe Mobo, 2-3gb RAM, 3 SATA2 drives, etc. I'd really like to go with a rackmount case, and ideally one that is quiet (i.e., made for studio use). The quietness isn't absolutely critical, since most of my analog recording is DI'd in one way or another, but it would be nice. I noticed that Antec is making a couple of studio-oriented cases called Take 3 and Take 4 (3U and 4U respectively). Has anyone had good luck with these or could make an alternative suggestion?

Many thanks in advance...

Rob

Antec makes two nice rackmount cases for audio.

    Antec Take 3
    Antec Take 4

I have the Antec Take 3. It comes with two case fans that have manual speed controls (slower = less noise).

Thanks Kicker, yeah I saw those two models. I'm curious about any opinions out there on them, or if there are other recommendations worth considering...
