Hi Daryl, thank you. I appreciate your input.
I think I commented earlier about keeping things simple. I am going through this country-blues kinda' phase right now. I never wrote anything like the last few songs like this in my career nor did I play any guitars on all my past pro stuff. Writing and producing these songs is one of the things on my bucket list. The arrangements are meant for a live band where we wouldn't see a lot of tracking and doubling up. At times this actually makes it harder to pull off. I am so happy when others recognize this.
Bapu did awesome on the bass as he has on my last few songs. I enjoy his input very much.

Hi Jim - great song, particularly liked the first solo round the 2 min mark. I thought the bass was a bit quiet in places especially the first half but as no one else has mentioned it it's probably me (I've got a cold at the minute so I'm not hearing great anyway). You have a great voice that really suits that style of music.
BTW. You done a great job on getting the Strat to sound like a Tele, I was surprised when I read it was a Strat.

A very cool country tune. I agree, this would be a lot of fun to play live. My only criticism, if I had to make one, is I would dial the reverb on the vocal back just a bit, but that's just me. And I listened on headphones so that may have something to do with it.

Hi rscain. Thanks for the listen and comments! I played with the reverb and echo over a month (along with other things) and I seem to prefer it where it landed. Not too much and not too little.
I have family up in Pikeville. Lot's of wonderful people have now passed away but I sure have a lot of fond memories visiting there as a kid and catching fire flies. My Aunt Lucille was the first Post Master in Kentucky way back when and my grandfather was a professional photographer. I am proud of where they came from.

Well done mate. I have to say that I actually listened from beginning to end and couldn't stop nodding my head. The song took me to a place and I stayed there the whole time (a rustic bar with a few folks on the dance floor and the band having a grand ole time). Again, well done.

Hi Charlie, thanks so much for your very encouraging words! I have really been working on keeping it simple these days (I know I commented on that earlier somewhere in this thread). The space between the notes almost as important as the notes kinda thing.
My guitar playing is getting better too. Not up to all your standards but I enjoy learning and trying out new things all the time.
Drums are my thing and I agree that many times, they are overplayed. Many years ago when I was in my late teens, I would show off all my chops playing live and always get tons of compliments when we took our breaks. It finally dawned on me that the band needed compliments - not just me! So I started backing off and soon, the group got the nods. There's a good lesson for you youngin's out there!
