Burn Audio CD isuue

Has anyone had an issue with the Burn Audio CD under utilities. I've got the blue screen of death twice now. Once while burning an exported song and the second just after I put in the CD with X1 Studio running. I am running windows 7 64 bit with 8 gigs of ram and an intel i5 quad core, brand new computer. I have down loaded all 3 updated but haven't installed them yet. Just a Note I have been working with the surround and exporting as multichannel. Any insite would be greatly appreciated. P.s. The preview option on this site just says "0" when I try to preview what I wrote. hmmmmmmmmm.

Chances are it's your CD/DVD player drivers if you are getting BSOD's, or the CD/DVD players firmware, or even your motherboard chipset drivers.
You might want to try and update your BIOS as well.

And what does your BSOD say?
    Running any antivirus?

Please update your footer (You haven't told us the exact version of Sonar you are using for instance).

Why don't you do this first before you post? (Whatever this is supposed to be).

Blue screen says " A program or thread critical to your system has unexpectedly exited or been terminated" at the bottom is says " Technical Information" *** STOP: 0X000000F4 (0X0000000000000003, 0XFFFFFA8009A7CB30,0XFFFFFA8009A7CE10.0 XFFFFF80002F848B0) I am running AVG 2011 free version, I will talk to my computer guy about the Bios update and possibly the burner firmware. Let me know if this makes any sense. I've updated with the patches and am going to try this again, if I don't respond it's because my computer has crashed again. Thanks for the info.

Great.... Please state whether you are using 32 bit or 64 bit versions in your footer (for Sonar and Windows).
In summary update all of your drivers and firmware everywhere (even graphics cards!).
    Manually run Windows Update.

If it still persists uninstall your antivirus, although it's more likely to be a driver/hardware issue.

I think Alex is on the right track here. In my experience the BSOD is mostly driver related. Up^grading audio and video drivers can't be a bad idea.

Try this program it may help you to find out what's causing the crash.

    Cheers,
    Jerry

Typically a BSOD will also list the driver/file that caused it, usually has a .sys or .drv extension.

If Windows got the crash there might also be a minidump available check if you have a 'C:\Windows\Minidump' folder they'll be named by the date it crashed.  It's also possible that the crash info is stored in your system info file as well (a step by step for getting this can be found here: www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013196)

Feel free to give us a ring or email along with your system info file and/or a minidump and we can take a gander for you.

Hi Guys, thanks for all of your input. I found out that the burner that was install was faulty, several from that lot caused the same type of problems on other computers. So far everything is back working, but until I can get further into my projects I won't know for sure. I've installed all 3 updates for X1 Studio, and I will run a manual update on windows for good measure. I am having a problem with the BFD Eco plug in when converting the midi to audio, but I will post it in another message with the proper header. Thanks again for the input. ;-)
