Bus panel in console view.

Hi guys, I have one screen and I have my set up so that I can flip between the track view and console view by hitting the d key, when on the console view I have it set up that by hitting the b key the bus pane expands and collapses, my problem is that if I have the bus panel enlarged to accommodate more busses in the ciew, when I hit b to collapse and then hit b to expand again the buss panel is smaller and I can't see some busses. Is there any way to overcome this. Thanks in advance,
Andrew

I have "B" set to its default (For the Browser dock) so I cant really experiment or try to replicate this.
However, you may find Screenset to do a better job at remembering Dock placement, the state of the Bus panel, exc.

Simply set it up as you normally do and save it as a Screenset. After your Screenset is finished, lock it
(using the SS drop down menu). Then use Screenset #2 for your other Bus state. again, lock that one as well.

This will allow you to still use the "D" shortcut to hide the dock, but it will also give you the expanded options with the state at which the Bus is in when locked in the SS.

If you haven't explored Screensets your really missing out on one of Sonars best features.

    Screenset switching is instant here.

They used to take a LONG time to switch but this behaviour changed as far back as X3 I think.

I find screen switching still takes a little time, about 1-2 seconds so not a big deal.

I find that screen sets take a few seconds to change as well.  Maybe it depends on how much is changing? You guys that are saying it switches quickly are you running SSDs?

I rarely use the console view but I doubt the actual key bound to the function is significant. Any unused key combination could be set up and tested. My guess is the function performs the same action as toggling Buses in the Strips menu.

All SSD here but it's not a serious enough issue for me to invest any time working out.

Yes, but switching was very fast even when I was on a regular HDD

Screensets takes up to a few seconds here if i switch. Sometimes only 1 second sometimes i wait really long. Strange thing is this happens on my Studio PC. (no internet- software etc- music optimized windows)
    I dont use screensets either.

Re: Bus panel in console view. 2016/09/25 04:05:55 (permalink)
Ok so screensets is much better now, I havent tried them in a while but last night I set up a session, For mixing, Screenset 1 is my tracks view, where I have all my tracks in the track view visible, and in the console view all my tracks visible, then screenset 2 is my busses view, where in the track view I set up where all my busses were visible and in the console view all the busses were visible. My only issue now is that if I switch between the 2 screensets and go back to my screenset 2 which is my busses sreenset, then the track view has reverted to show the tracks and not the busses. Gonna make up some more screensets, recording, editing etc.... I forgot how handy these can be and now switching is much faster it's a viable option. Cheers guys. Anybody got any ideas why the track view reverts to show the tracks and not the busses.
    Thanks,
               Andrew

Make sure the screenset isn't locked, make your changes THEN lock it.

Other than that I don't know what could be causing it
