Buss Volume Problem in X2

So, I have a couple of audio tracks both being sent to the same buss.... I adjust the buss volume fader and it sounds a certain volume.

I stop playback and restart the playback and the buss volume has changed (the fader didn't move) just the volume changes?  There is NO automation on any tracks or busses in this project.

However, the behavior is like there is automation that changed the buss volume when the song restarts after the stop?

Anybody have this as well?

Jim

Open an automation lane on a track. If there is a green line or any color line its automated. Delete the node. I'm having an issue where when setting a level on a track it gets automatically automated. This happends on ramdon tracks. As I'm mixing moveing faders the fader snaps back to its original level. Another fix needed for X2. I'm also getting black lines that appear from nowhere. They go away after close the project and reopen but then they sometimes come back.

Mosvalve... that is exactly the symptom I am having... if I move the fader it snaps back to its level it should have been....

So, we have some issues but all in all, not bad for a major release.

I like X2 so far even with the quirks. The issue with the level meters bug me though because you don't know what your level is at especially when recording, not good. Talk about just using your ears. Maybe thats what Cake is trying to do train our ears better.

Like X1 everything will get fixed or most everything. At least I can fall back on X1 or even 8.53 for that matter. I like the new features and changes. X2 has that new car smell. Hopefully not a lemon.

For now just keep an eye on the automation lanes.

    Mosvalve,

Darn if you weren't correct... all three audio tracks going to the buss had a mystery VOLUME automation lane... deleted them all and problem fixed.... I don't think I added them though, I think X2 added them by itself since they were all NEW AUDIO tracks added to the project after the update to X2....

Anyway, at least my problem with this project is solved and if it happens again, I now know where to look first.

    Thanks,
    Jim

Is that a new feature where if X2 doesn't like your mixing, it will mix it for you?

Jim your welcome.  I don't remember these new features being mentioned, self automation, no level meters during record/playback, (for ear training I'm guessing) black lines that magically appear on the tracks randomly etc. Cool stuff.

Do you have "Overwrite" selected as the automation write mode? Check in the inspector-->Track-->Automation pane.

If you do and you arm a track or all tracks for automation the envelope will be written whether you move a control or not and if the level happens to be at unity........

Changing the mode to touch will sort it.

FBB.... I never armed the track(s) for automation?  Unless I did it by accident and then unarmed it... don't really remember but I could have.

And I will check the overwrite parameter as well.

    Thanks,
    Jim

FBB, I didn't arm any of the tracks for automation either. I'll keep an eye on the overwrite, thanks for that tip.

I noticed that if you open the lanes, even just to look or whatever, sonar creates a vol envelope at unity.
Or, then again, maybe it was there all along and only noticed because of opening the lane. hmm.
