By The Way ...

Hi,

I can't really decide what to sing about these days, so I've been recording some instrumentals lately to work on production, mixing, playing skills and have fun of course : )
Here is one I did a couple of months ago https://soundcloud.com/user9149108/by-the-way
Comments and critics welcome...

Best regards,
Daniel

Nice. Didn't really miss the vocals at all. Liked the guitar panning and soundscape,  good mix on my Tannoy system.

Furry paw tapping stuff Daniel, perhaps the lead could be a little more present in some places but overall nice sounding mix here.

Wow, this is great stuff! Perfectly chosen tones, and superb playing, so tight. Textbook guitar instrumental, loads to keep the interest up.

    Thanks for your feedback !

    Johnny,
for that tune I never had any plans for vocals ...I tried to let the guitars tell the story. Glad you liked the Mix : ) Thanks!

    Wookiee,
Thanks a lot for commenting! You probably mean the 2nd "vers"...?  I tried to create some suspense with the guitar panned hard left (slightly hidden, you're right) 'till the main guitar would come back in...

    jamesg1213,
Thank you! I'm practicing the parts for tightness and accuracy a lot before I record anything. It makes editing and mixing so much easier. ...glad you enjoyed this!

    Dan,
Thank you so much for your compliment, it's very much appreciated!

Thanks again for listening and your kind comments, gentlemen!

    Best regards,
    Daniel

Most definitely a rocking track, Daniel...just a TON of energy bursting forth from my little speakers.  Some really nice guitar work and a superb mix too.  Excellent work.

Nice!   Your time spent practicing paid off since the timing is very tight...as it should be with something like this.   I gotta agree with James - "textbook guitar instrumental".   In the Satch/Vai tradition.

Thank you, Steve!  Vai, Satriani, Paul Gilbert ... ect. Those are dizzy heights. I don't think I will ever get there. Not in this life, anyway. I'm just trying to add a little more variety to my playing, other than falling back into the same pentatonic  scales over and over again. Creating instrumental "songs" are a good way to train this.
Man, they are millions of guitar players out there who would blow me right out of the water. But do I still have fun pLaying guitar? Yeeeessss !!!
