Bye Bye HS6XL and Hello to Sonar 7 Producer Edition...

Well I'm always a few years behind but it suits me well. My question is, I want to uninstall HS6XL to install Sonar 7 but I dont want to lose my projects. How do I safely do this?

Dont uninstall SHS 6. Unless HD space is limited.

A BIG +1 to that.  Each version of Sonar takes up very little room, so there's no reason to un-install previous versions.  You don't want to risk losing plug-ins you want - and as a regular at the X1 Forum, I can't tell you how many times I've seen posts from users who freak out because for some reason they un-installed older Sonars and ended up in the proverbial sh$t creek without a paddle.  Keep all of yer Sonars - you never know when you'll need them.

So you's guys think I should just install Sonar 7 Producer Edition right ontop of HS6XL? Has there been any complaints of incompatibility? (Primary reason why I got 7 is because HS6XL really was a bare bones version that pissed me off with it's limitations...ie: no Audiosnap, no VC 64 along with a buggy pluggin manager and console view).

there's no problem with "incompatibility" - in fact you can use your plugins and softsynths from SHS6XL in Sonar 7 if you leave it alone and just install Sonar 7.  the program itself will install in a different folder and the shared plugins and softsynths will install in the shared directories.

sonar products are designed to do exactly that.
