CA-2A updates and install?

Loving the CA-2A before Cake's kind giveaway... I find that it is now in my Command Center, showing uninstalled...yet I already have it.  Their email also indicated I already owned it.
Question..
Do I have to install it for updates that are now also out with it?? My Sonar shows up to date. ...are there updates for the CA-2A?

EDIT  ...noting that "my products" page has the same serial number is what is in the CCC.   I guess I should now install it (again)??

Hi. I did also own this, but I saw mine red in CCC, so I downloaded and installed it (again) without any issues. Have tested it, and nothing negative to report on my end.
All the best.

Thanks...I guess that is what I'll do.  Kinda briefly reading all these threads, it appears there was an update to the CA-2A, and therefore a "current" [re]install would get things up to date??

Yeah...I'm not having issues... it's just "red" now as a separate item in my CCC and it "appears" there is an update from the original release (which might offer more features??...or just a bug fix???)  Who knows??  The "freebie" just seems to be that... not an update as well.

Anyrate... KILLER plugin and I use it as a VST in other programs too.  I like it A LOT and don't hesitate slapping it on something for the good.

Wish I'd of waited to get it for free ... as most of us who paid for it in the past, I'm sure  ... then again, what would I have done without it for these past 3-4 years!  But, great product and I'm glad Cakewalk is treating their customer base with these kinds of bonuses ...

Yes I too purchased this plug-in,  Has it been updated? and I guess it does no harm to ask if there is a refund/credit for those who already bought it.

The reason it showed up in Command Center as not installed, even though it was already installed on your system, is that Command Center only tracks installs that have been launched from Command Center, so it had no awareness of your having manually installed it on some earlier occasion.

When I made the move to Command Center for maintaining installs/uninstalls/updates, I sacrificed a BUNCH of time to sit there and have all products that show up in Command Center installed, even though they already were installed on my system.  This was a GIANT pain in the bee hive, but now just about everything is under the umbrella of Command Center, and maintenance now is super simple and super painless.  I can also roll back as needed, and that is important to me, and it works.

... only different? You can use it outside PC and with other DAWs whereas the PC-2A is PC exclusive. Sounds and operates the same otherwise.

The CA-2A is a significant upgrade to the PC2A which was only for the Pro Channel.
This current free release is an update to the CA2A.
The CA2A is a VST3/2 as well as Pro Channel.

There are a few bug fixes and also updates to allow it to work as AU and AAX. If you already have it you may as well update to the latest version since its also built with the newest compiler.

You can look in the Command Center and see if it shows up as installed and up to date.  Or within Sonar you can add an effect to any track and see if it exists as an option to install.

I have had a similar question to the O.P.'s all along - a good example is Addictive Drums.  When I purchase an outside plug-in, and then it gets added as a freebie within Sonar, how do I know when Sonar has a "light" version so that I don't install / update a light version over my better, purchased version, versus Sonar's freebie being the full Monty?  With AD I have the full package, latest, so I have never allowed the Command Center to "upgrade" the Sonar version for fear I'll overwrite my full package.  But what about other plug-ins that are similarly available from vendors (I think some Softube applications fall in this category) - how do we know what's a full version that should be upgraded, and what's a "light" version?

Just curious... I see the front panel is hinged so which screws do I loosen to change the tubes when they finally fail?

Which tube brand "sounds" the best and where can I get them?

Just curious...

I used an online digital phillips screwdriver to get the front panel off, and changed the tubes to NOS virtual Mullards
