Nice sounds, Kenny and as always, great playing! Killer tone on the lead part. I really like the TH3 stuff and I also have Scuffingham's S-Gear which is very nice too, but I keep getting much closer to tones that sound great to me with Guitar Rig 5. Judging by the sounds here I figure I must be doing something wrong.
Hi Kevin , thank you for the super kind words
I appreciate what you said .
In my current living space , my current studio consists of a lap top on a table w my interface , a cable , a set of head phones , one guitar pick , a tuner and my monitors ....
Then I have one guitar in a stand with my pedal board tucked away in it's case near by...
That is it , that's all I ever leave out .
For the past 3 years everything I have been doing musically has been in the box.
Like many folks here, I have a decent collection of guitar amp sims & my current situation forces me to use them ...
Say, if it makes you feel any better I always feel like I'm doing something wrong when I use them & My reasons are different than most ...
Some people on the board here that have known me for years know that I have a beautiful guitar collection to choose from and a nice selection of highly desirable vintage tube amps ... some GTRS and Amps I've had for over 30 years ...
I'm sort of in a limbo because my living space makes it difficult to set up my studio the way I want it to be ...
I don't get to record or play my nice acoustic guitars ...yada yada yada
I have gotten to the point where I can get close with amp sims ...it has been a love hate thing though ...
I just look at this as paying dues and a form of woodsheding ....
In the end , it's all good and we all have to do what we have to do
FWIW I think the CA- X TH3 amps sound pretty good and they do take some of the guess work out of the equation .Would I rather be using my own gear Yes !
At least the good news is most of the places I post my music on feature players that are amp snobs
So far they haven't ran me out of there for using an amp sim ...
PS , I never told them that I was using an amp SIM
batsbrew never snitched on me so I'm good for now
have a good one ...

I dunno Kenny. Sounds pretty good in the mix, but when you hear the guitars by themselves, sounds kind'a straight to the board I think. The sound reminds me of that very first SansAmp that came out around 1990. I had one. What do you think?
Hey Bill ,
I like you . You don't BS around and I appreciate that
A good deal of what I was saying wound up in the post I did for Kevin , my signals are all over the place tonight guys so please excuse the crisscross style of me putting out there my ideas for now ....
Anyway here's the lowdown on this clip.
I could make this clip sound much better than what I did , but that wasn't my goal ...
My Goal was to take one of my guitars , in this case a Maple neck Tele w EMG pick ups and record it direct sing only the CA-X TH3 Classic amp sim ...
I did not add anything external to my 3 guitar parts while using that sim ...no verbs no nothing just the bone dry amp sim and what it came with ...
If any thing because I had done my parts to a backing track that I had created I am fully aware that I had to cut and take a lot of the meat out of my guitars tone so the parts would gel with the track .
both clips are just this simple ...the full on clip has my GTR parts that I carved using the pro channel eq .
The guitar only clip is just the gtr's soloed from the project and exported ...
Now I could have doctored up the guitar only render by adding the meat back that I had carved out and I could have even added a little sweetener to make that clip stand much better on it's own ...
I didn't because at the time I felt it would have been a form of deception ...only because I had already had a full on clip with other instruments for reference already up and posted
I have no problem leaving my stuff out in the open naked ...to be honest I didn't expect anyone other than myself to even care one way or the other about this clip ....i put the naked clip out because Steve asked for it
If someone here want's to hear what I can do only using the amp sim w out using the backing track as a reference point ...just ask I'll do it ...guitar only recordings is something I am very good at ...in this case I thought it was important to have a concise point of reference as far as the tones I used ...
Any way we are all good . I do respect what you said ...I'm not here to make excuses I just didn't do a whole big write up in my opening post as to what my goal was for this demo clip ...
that parts on me I guess , all the best,
Kenny
