Here are the settings that work,, check yours. This is from my tutorial found in my signature if you want to read more about how to export a song.

PS- I don't think Meng actually uses Sonar,, he's to busy and I don't even think he's a Musician. Nothing is broken, this will be user error.

Its most likely specific to something in your project. Use a process of elimination to try and isolate it by removing tracks and instruments until it works.
If you create a new project and export a simple track to mp3 does it work for you?

What reason for not checking 64-bit Engine?

Thanks.

What reason for not checking 64-bit Engine?

The 64-bit option just doubles the memory used during export, which can be an issue if RAM is short. Hey, that rhymes. A poet who don't know it. I got in the habit of turning the option off when I was on a 32-bit machine where memory was sometimes (and sometimes, unexpectedly) a limitation-  and still do so out of habit. It makes no difference in the final audio quality.

Failure to allocate memory would be one of the things that could result in a generic "internal error".

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Thanks bitflipper.

I've never unchecked that option. Seems like a hangover from days of underpowered computers.

Ok many many thanks for the replies...hi Noel is a great pleasure...
Maybe i gave you a wrong impression of my Sonar knowledge...i have tried other prj, other file export but after the last CbB update i have an internal error that i have never seen.
Meng, the problem is only for CbB indeed..
I export with zero problem the same prj or file in SonarPlatinum.....ergo CbB, after the update has an export problem

Ha, ha.. You know what I meant :)  old habits are hard to break, and I still think of the "DAW"  as Sonar.
And glad to know your using it too. Be careful, it's addictive...

This is possibly something install or system related then. Maybe even language or file name related.
There are no changes whatsoever to export in this version.

I've got the same problem.
I'm British but live in Italy, so my OS is Italian. I'd prefer my version of Sonar to be in English, but after the update it went to Italian - any ideas on how to change it back?

The language may be set using the Cakewalk Command Center (this works for CbB too because SONAR and CbB use the same registry entry) or by setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Language to English using regedit. CbB overriding the existing setting is a known problem and is being addressed.

If the language is changed please report back whether is makes a difference or not.

When reporting problems is it useful to state the software version, "latest update" is not as useful. The current version of CbB is 24.04.1.28. The information is found on the About screen.

Sorry Noel, for me you are the boss not the staff ....
I tried every other setting, but after the update at 24.04.01 build 28 the export not work.......
I have done the tests in some full prj and in empty prj (no plugs)with and without 64 bit export option (Bitflipper advice)....
I have changed the language from italian to english with CCC but not work....
For my knowledge.......i can't see the language folder in regedit...is it normal?
In Sonar Platinum (the best DAW in the world )is all perfect!
I would like to thank the CbB support who sent me a mail for the problem, nice and kind guys!
Many thanks and i will inform you about the developments.

Please include the exact steps you are performing to export including the actual folder name you are trying to save to.
Does bounce to track work for you? If that works exporting to a wave file at 32 bits should definitely also work since its essentially the same code.

Based on the error message and the fact that it happens in all languages, my hunch is that this is a permissions issue with the folder location you are saving to.
Try running CbB as an administrator and do the same operation and report back as well.

This happened when I installed latest build too. I posted about it the Feedback/Problem forum. When I run as administrator it's fine.

opened normally, can't export, bounce midi to new track or even drag loops into trackview

Re: CBB export problems 2018/05/06 03:09:49 (permalink)
As a matter of habit, I open all my important programs as administrator.  Of course, I am the primary user anyway.  Initially, it was a way of getting around locked folders in win 7 64 bit.  I love Win 7 it has been a solid build on base for my work.  However, it does have some strange protection issues.  I have had to convince it that I was a friend, not an enemy  ;-)

With that said, I mixed down two projects...yesterday and today.  Both had at least 18-22 tracks with probably 16 vsts in various situations. I did several parts using built in synths (vstis) and imported some audio tracks I had.   Now I have found there are some vsts that will bog a system down so much that they can cause an export issue.  I will usually start by eliminating anything I added to the song recently and that usually zeroes in on the problem.

But generally, exporting has never been a real issue for me.  Cakewalk by BandLab is working flawlessly for me.  I do all my studio projects solely on that daw.  Though, I have over the years tried various daws, I have always been comfortable with Cakewalk.  I actually started in the mid 80's using Stefan Daystrom's Hybrid Arts SMPTE Track on an Atari 1040STe.  When they went under I moved quickly to Cakewalk in the late '80s and have remained there quite comfortably.  It has always been a product that keeps getting better and better.  With Noel and the bunch innovating it has surpassed my original expectations.  I am happy that I got the download issue solved at BandLab.  It made me a very, very happy camper.

Now CbB export perfectly every kind of project in wave and mp3......
However, even before the program opened with all the permissions and I do not understand why it did not export correctly,i didn't any change......

It was very easy to change the language back to English using the old Command Centre. I didn't think CC would also update the Bandlab version too. Thanks again.

You still haven't told me which folder you are exporting to :)
Due to UAC, some disk locations in Windows cannot be written to by a standard user. e.g attempting to write to C:\ will fail unless you are running with admin privileges.

My guess is you are writing to a folder that does not have write access for your user id. To verify that theory, run CbB normally (without run as admin) and try exporting to your desktop. If that works normally this is definitely what is going on. You will have exactly the same problem with previous versions of SONAR. I bet that you had at some point set SONAR permanently to run as admin.

Noel ,you are right.
I have tried to save without "run as admin" in a folder in c: and no works,in F: (Sonar Prj) works.
Same in Sonar Platinum....but the question is whats happened???
Before the update CbB was perfect when i have done the mixdown in C:
