CD Burning 9 tracks ( how to avoid 1 long track?) in X1
I tired burning 9 tracks to cd. The CD came out as 1 long track. How do I burn so that it is 9 tracks vs 1 long one. I followed the instruction on Craig Anderton's tutorial. Thanks

Well... the short answer is: "within Sonar... you can't". In Craig's video, after he explains how (and why) you would create the single, long track (mainly for track sequence timing purposes), he then suggests you take that Master CD to professionals who will then slice and dice it to create a real "Redbook" CD for duplication. You can do that, if the final product is intended to be sold at gigs, etc., and is worth the expense. Personally, I use a program from Acoustica called "Spin It Again", which I originally purchased for recording and archiving my vast vinyl collection. But you don't even need to go to that extreme: you can save each track individually (be sure the track names start with the TRACK # to keep the preferred sequence; for example: "01 - How Do I Do This", "02 - Why Do I Need To", etc.). Then use whatever program you already have to burn an audio cd of these tracks. The only problem with that method is if two tracks are intended to seque into each other (crossfade). OlSkoolGuy

Well thank you for the explanation. I must have missed that part where he said it needs to be diced.. I can use CD Architect still. Thanks Again

I mix down each song individually then once they are all done, drag them into iTunes or Windows Media Players and burn them. Easiest way Ive found to do it in keeping them seperated for cds, iPods, etc...

+1, CD architect is great for this and can burn red book standard cds as well as embedded CD text and PQ codes

I use Sony Vegas Pro a lot for burning CDs. If you burn the disc as a "Track at Once" disc it will burn the project as one continuous track. If you choose "Disc at once" it will burn the individual tracks as a normal Redbook CD. I have not tried burning a CD with X1 but I am really surprised that Sonar X1 would not be capable of burning a normal audio CD when it is in fact a PRO audio software. This is quite interesting...!

Actually... I mis-spoke when I said X1 can't do it (burn a CD). The problem - if I remember correctly - is it does not give you the option of "Disc at Once", so you are definitely better off using another dedicated burner program.

I was just going to say --- Sony CD Architect. can take one long stereo track and divide it up into individual CD tracks, control the amount of space between them...etc. pretty cheap too for what it does! This brings up a question and comment: I wonder why it's been so long since they upgraded CD - A???
