CD/DVD burner that will imbed ISRC codes?
Can anyone give me a make/model of a CD/DVD burner that is known to burn ISRC codes correctly and is still for sale? I've tried 6 different units so far (Plextor, Sony (brand new), TDK, Pioneer). I installed Sony's CD Architect V. 5.2d on two different PC's, both running XP and cycled all these burners through them with no luck. Thanks

Hmm, I never noticed any burners to not be able to burn ISRC to CDs...maybe I just never had one that couldn't...? I've used Lite-On burners and my Plextor Plexwriter Premiums along with CD Architect to handle this. Good luck.

i was under the impression that you didn't need a "special" CD Burner, just software which would handle it, but I could be wrong of course. I would think that if you have CD Architect that it would be able to put ISRC codes on the disc on any "modern" burner.

Thanks for the help guys. I too am surprised at having this problem. I think I've tried everything. CD Architect has a feature to read subcodes (including ISRC) from any CD and it's coming up empty on any commercial CDs I try also. On two different PC with two different burners/readers. I can't think of what else to try but get a known "ISRC reading/writing" burner. I'll try to find a Plextor Plexwriter Premium. Thanks

Thanks JD. I installed EAC and what do you know, it says my Pioneer DVD/CD drive does support ISRC/UPC codes. Not sure where that leaves me since CD Architect doesn't seem to agree. I see the first fix on the v5.2d of CD Architect is to correct writing ISRC codes. Maybe they didn't get it quite right. Thanks for the help.

I would like to know some model names for burners that can embed the ISRC codes on to the CD-R's. I got some names on the net but they were all discontinued already. Also it should support slow burning (at least down to 4x). An external USB model would be a plus. I use CD Architect, which does handle the ISRC codes, but my LG CD-R burner ignores them. J

Did you do what JonD suggested above regarding EAC? I suspect any "modern" burner which CD Architect says won't work is CD Architect's fault for not correctly reading the burner, not that it's not capable.

I think there really are non-ISRC compatible CD/DVD drives. In that case, the software solutions will only work for some (most?).

I use Nero "Burning ROM" and it will embed my ISRC codes on the audio CD-R's. It's not a hardware drive function, the ISRC is a software function of your burning software. You can get a 15 day trial version of Nero 11 (whcih includes the Nero Burning ROM program) http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero11-trial.php

One other thought. You have to set the burning mode as "Disk at Once" (DAO) rather than "Track at Once" to get song name, ISRC, etc written on the audio CD-R.
